Idk, what some of these ladies have done is pretty impressive. Especially Sarah Hillebrandt.. 
 
She won one of the bronze medals in the women's 50 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She is a three-time medalist at the World Wrestling Championships and a gold medalist at the Pan American Games. She is also a six-time gold medalist at the Pan American Wrestling Championships. Just a little bit of her resume . 
 
I’m going to say we got an Indiana winner right here and she’s got my vote .

Local 219 films followed Mendez going for his 4th title and Crown points journey to a state title.
 
 
 

Congrats to Brayden Jellison for being the reunited Elkhart High School's first state placer since the new school opened!!

Just a quick update on Sam, the 2018 state runner-up at 195.  He is in his final year of seminary at Bishop Brute' here in Indianapolis.  He is studying to be a priest in the Catholic church and is completely happy. He'll be spending time and Creighton University this summer and traveling to the Holy Land in May.  When he returns he'll spend the next four years in formation at St. Meinrad Seminary in Southern Indiana.  
 
The sacrifices he made in wrestling were always opportunities to grow closer to God, and I guarantee the homilies that he gives will be filled with stories about growing in his relationship with God through the life-changing sport of wrestling. 
 
Please keep Sam in your prayers as he journeys towards ordination! 

Eric McGill Munster and B. Cosgrove Hobart.... wrestled like 7 times in one year. Always a great match both ended careers with a State Title

I wanted to get on here to keep you up to date on Coach Steve Balash from Hobart. He has been diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. He is attacking this with great strides! Please if you could keep him in your thoughts and prayers. This would be his 50th year coaching 3 sports (Football, Track, and Wrestling). Right now we are selling shirts with all proceeds going towards his fight!

The Brownsburg room is massive. When my oldest son was being recruited the Brownsburg coaches took a D1 college coach up to that room and he was amazed. Bigger and nicer then the majority of college rooms. It’s very nice. 

Not exactly a good week and I truly hate breaking this type of news.
 
Longtime Plymouth coach Bob Read passed away yesterday. He coached many great wrestlers at Plymouth for 40+ years.

Mark Durham and Joe did it again!  Great tournament, greatly ran.  Was nice to have the watches for the officials for the timing situations.  Saw a couple of last second scores/non-scores where the officials were able to know exactly as time ran out!

Man Indiana is ontherise 😒 pun intended. These guys coming in to high school and the next wave of middle school guys are tough! This group showed they are not afraid of tough competition and showed out. That takes guts, great job!
