alright guys calm down, they are all great wrestlers I was trolling for fun, no need to get worked up

wasnt worked up just think it be cool to hear perspective from a guy that's wrestled all these guys if that was the case... and I knew you was trolling but I sensed you might actually know them and competed against them.

You didn't ask what his credentials were. You asked what year he won, as though that is what would give him license to have an opinion. On that measure there are 14 guys per year who can post here.

I defend his right to say stupid stuff because I say stupid stuff.

yea he's insinuated he's beat great guys so I asked what year he won...I'LL ask whatever I want as long as I do it with tact and interest...You can defend him but as far as I see he is the one taking shots at ppl.

I'm not a fan of having to state your credentials to have an opinion. Of course, no one knows less about wrestling than I do, so that would naturally be my position. If you want to argue, lets argue. I will make fun of your arguments on occasion (and I did), but you don't need to be an accomplished wrestler to have an opinion on other accomplished wrestlers. I just like to argue. So ignore the guys who say, "Oh yeah, what have you won?" By the way, all I have won is an 8th place ribbon in a middle school intra-mural swim meet, but I do have eyes to see.

or we could just wanna know what hes done on the mat? if he's speaking in depth in what another D1 ALL AMERICAN is doing the least hw can do is state what he's accomplished along the way.. and if he's wrestled the guys mentioned it's intriguing to hear his take on things..

Have to admit......I entertained the idea with Silas.  But ultimately.....had I done so, I would’ve outwardly been setting an example of athletics overriding academics.  And that’s a major breach of the Allred’s household priority line.

Being fully transparent.....Regardless of my sons success through relentless hard work, I still frequently think on the “what if’s”.  He could legit be a sophomore right now and not such a young junior.  Increased accolades in-state and Nationally would undoubtedly be attained.  But ultimately....if athletics isn’t the back up plan to education/career, we’re setting our kids up for misaligned values.  Make no mistake.....Silas plans to take the sport as far as his health, work ethic and God allows.  But one reality we’ve embraced.....is that the events of tomorrow can never be fully predicted.  And in retrospect......being young for his class and having to work harder to compensate for the age gap, has likely benefited his long term success and character much more than any medal could.  And rest assured, as it pertains to the topic of age/success/recruiting......programs are very aware of an athletes age/projection. So in most instances.....being young and successful is even more appealing to recruiters.  And that “success” I refer to here.....goes far beyond what an athlete accomplishes in their particular sport.  Character & Classroom has to come first.

can't think of a better parent than you Big dogg... You have done great work him and he is going to be great in whatever he does and he's got great support along the way..I have none of my own children but if I did I would wanna follow your blueprint..I got the most utmost respect for you and your son and so happy we have became friends over the past few years and appreciate the kind words of wisdom you drop on Trizton..I can't wait to see the boys excel at the next level and become leaders for us all to embrace.

Not sure why you all are feeding this fool(backyardchamp). I’m pretty sure he’s the one who posted a new topic the other day after the finals about how bad the wrestling is and how he could beat everyone all the way up to 182. It was such a horrendous post that Y2 wipes it off the face of the board quicker  than Pat Day’s :11 pin(2006 state).

that was something Fry.. not saying it can't be the same guy but he has a different SN.

How many state titles have you won, Lavar?  I’ll wager that you are a 34- year old man with a kool aid mustache.

one more time, show us your eighth place ribbon from intramural swimming when you were in middle school.

he says caleb spires knows him and was a fan if his..so who is this mystery man?

All of you guys bagging on Washington for gas, injury time etc need to put a sock in it.  He lost the match on the first missed throw, period.  Slivka was always fighting and that is to his credit.  If you listened at all to the broadcast or followed any of Wash's results, you know he cranks out the throws when he thinks they are there.  The guy is multidimensional on his feet.  I have no idea of the deal with injury time, but for all we know, he can be asthmatic and truly needed the time.  Sometimes you have to sacrifice a call to stay in the game.  I just find the insinuation that his 2nd injury call as a strategic decision to be unassuming at best and at least, condemning.  And no, I have never met either wrestler.

its apparent he was tired and I never insinuated he a strategic reason for injury time...If you dont think Slivkas Top game helped him win that match then idk what to tell you... when a guy has been getting takedowns non stop on the feet, any time you can turn the match into a mat battle like slivka did it serves many purposes..it helps wear a guy down, keeps them off their feet where he has the advantage and it was a great top game that helped slivka win.. yes he missed that throw and it cost him but don't think for a minute Slivkas top game didn't help bring home the title.. you can't teach heart and Slivka def has heart plus he's been battling a rib injury at least since he beat mahan... Congrats to jordan well done young man.

First I want to congratulate young Mr. Brewer on a state title & a great career. I have appreciated watching him wrestle. Second, I also want to say that I don't believe the head butt tarnished what he accomplished. Wrestling is a physical sport & these sorts of things are going to happen especially in such high stakes/highly intense matchups. Furthermore, I don't believe for a second there was any malicious intent.

But, I am going to have disagree with the majority here in that I didn't care for the PB&J exhibit. He did this in Evansville as well. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think this was some horrible/atrocious act. I just don't see it as appropriate given the setting. The introduction of the two finalists is a moment to recognize both wrestlers that have gotten there. Pulling a stunt like that, while it might be all in good natured fun, is at best an attempt to say 'look at me' while at worst ,IMO, a little disrespectful to your opponent. It's his moment too & you're making light of it. Now while a big majority may not mind it at all, there could be some that would be offended by it. Like it is a statement that you have little to no respect for them & what they have done to get there. JMO

or he is really hungry from wrestling all day?  Reading into a young mans eating habits seems a crazier than a kid actually grubbing b4 his biggest matches of the year...

To clarify... (and i know that i really don’t have to but want to help you understand) as he went to make contact with his head, Donahue moved back. At the point he did lunge forward in an attempt to make head to head contact (he likes to be forehead to fire head). Made the mistake of coming forward too hard. It was a mistake but I assure you that it was not malicious. It also took Carson out of his game. He clearly did not wrestle the same after the head butt. He felt bad and didn’t want to do it again. We did get a chance to discuss it with the Donahues last night. Glad to report that we made some new friends. Great people. Culver is going to be very good!!!

Btw.. he’s good with the boos. Not upset about it. Just proud to be a champ. Hopefully the legend of the pb&j will live on for years!

the boos speak to how ridiculous those ppl are putting down a hs kid and don't reflect on how most feel about Carson.. He didn't deserve that treatment even though he can handle it.

Thanks for the novel but don’t we all have kids that we want to toot horns for as well? I was just saying people pilled on a little because you tooted more than anyone in the history of indianamat has . That’s all man no biggie no need to get all emotional 😭....Like you I don’t hide behind screen names either so if you want a name and picture of me feel free to ask I can even through an autograph on it 😎

never said you hid.. and i'm good on a autograph.. and If I did toot more than anybody ever than that's awesome... your emojis and slick talk come across as emotional cuz there isn't no crying over here..Looks like I might be right about Brewer and I'll stand behind my ppl till the end and could care less about the opinions of the rest as long as my ppl know i'm there for them..

I think the fact that you said he was on another level LAST year too ( I believe your exact words were it will take a Herculean effort to beat him and Elijah Hercules Mayan did it first round)and now again saying the same things This year that has people jumping  on you a little! It just proves how hard it is to win in Indiana at this level and how nothing is guaranteed no matter what national accolades you have . Brewer is very good I am glad he finally placed but like 99.99% of these kids he is not unbeatable .

like i'm the first person to get behind a great kid..when a kid wins One if the toughest hs tourneys and is undefeated..Majors #3 Bellamy..not had a offensive point scored on him in indiana...Great kid..Class act...my buddy's son...yea im gonna toot his horn and Have no problem being wrong if the stars don't align..I don't knock others when they make predictions so Its comical that anytime a county kid loses everybody loves throwing it in ppl faces...Brewer is in another level and when he's on, there isn't a soul in this state touching him.. And if i'm not mistaken mahan Gave a "Herculean" effort last year so... Where was I wrong? I got thick skin and can handle myself that's the difference between me and most ppl..I'm not just a anonymous smack talker behind a screen name..I have respect for the whole state and sport as a whole and if me rooting for Carson and Trizton and speaking well on them is wrong I don't wanna be right..Ppl can pile on all they want but my opinion is Brewer is once again on a roll and gonna be hard to beat and I don't see what the deal is.. The dudes lost twice in 2 years combined so Whomever wants to disagree that its gonna take a "herculean" effort are plain bitter or crazy.. and never once time have I said any kid ever is unbeatable..I wouldn't ever say that or put that on a kid...

I meant others attacked your freestyle example.  Doing so doesn't somehow validate their comparison of wrestling a 160 lb Facundo tough.  We're on the same page.

I see what you're saying now ...And I am no way trying to offend or question how good Laplace is.. the young man is phenomenal wrestler I just caught up in some of the comments..I appreciate everybody on here regardless If we see eye to eye about anything..I just love that the sport has a lot of dedicated supporters that really care about the sport and kids...We may have silly debates or whatever but in this instance regardless the outcome of the match its sad 1 wrestlers season ended from an injury but on the other hand a top notch Laplace that lost to another great wrestler is bk in the tournament.. good luck to all competitors tonight!

I believe I was the first one in this thread to bring up the different weight classes and you ran with it.  And I agree with you 100%!.

The match may not be a major, hell Brewer may not win.  But using a result at 160 a month before the HS season started as why LaPlace will not get majored is weak.  You're arguing unit of comparison and brought up one of your own that you know isn't apples to apples either.  Attacking your comparison does not make the original one correct.

It should be a fun match to watch.  Many people don't think Brewer will major him.  Some do.  My question is, what if Brewer is dominant in a 5-1 win?  Who is right in that case?  Personally, I'd fall on the side of those that think he'll win by major. but that's just my opinion.

What comparison of mine did I attack?  only thing that I said that was questionable is brewers win over Bates being in freestyle.. Regardless these are 2 great talents and I just think Brewer is on another level than most.

  14. and for the ppl that wanna keep bringing up last year its comical..Yea brewer got upset Friday night but winning the way he has this year and over the comp at Brecksville should account for something... And I'm not the type to rub in ppl face if brewer does major him...its just mind boggling that ppl are grilling me over me saying they make weight classes for a reason and I promise you Brewer at 182 is a a way tougher match than a 160 p4p stud regardless of his accolades... This is about the now not the past.
