Any idea if IHSAA is planning on pushing start time back on Friday to allow teams and fans a little more time for travel on the first day?
Would be cool to see it go back to a single session starting around 3pm.

Why can’t people purchase tickets in the top sections? Only the lower two?
That’s what I was wondering. Are they waiting for the lower sections to be full and get those last 10 random tickets to be bought out of there?
or did they think added that lower pull out section that I’d be enough to not open upper level?

@126 Freshman Tylin Thrine 38-0 New Castle
@HW TITUS WATERS 47-0. MuncieCentral
@195 Luke Hansen 40-0 of Rocalli
@152 Bryce Lowery 40-0 Cathedral
@138 Michael Major 25-0 Carmel
Hansen and Lowery both represent us southsiders at Roncalli. You’re crossing enemy lines with those words. Wrong person sees that that and you might be asking for it. Haha
The Thrine brothers are fun to watch. Enjoyed watching them wrestle today.

Would have been cool if they would have planned ahead when they Pacers were announced as 2024 All-Star game host, which was about 3+ years ago. With that much time notice, they could have worked with the Pacers Sports organization and possibly pushed the state series back a week.
Think attendance will be down a bit or close to sellout due to change of scenery?

Just watched these quarterfinal matches. certainly is a loaded class. Semifinals should be another good watch.

Still have some kinks to work out on some things, but the 1A gym did pump out some noise today. Glad to have our kids compete at this event.
1A at Franklin was loud when I stepped into watch for a few minutes between our breaks. Hard to get a good venue that allows fans that close to the matches but also has the room for all. The close tight atmosphere makes it loud and crazy, but certainly has its drawbacks when it comes to seating for all.

Roncalli just pulled off the biggest choke job in program history!
Did we choke? Yea, we certainly could have been a lot better today, but I also think Terre Haute South was a heck of a lot better than an 8 seed and we were over seeded. We still didn’t wrestle up to our seed though. Look where they finished and look where we finished. Does seeding change brackets and where we finish, probably not with how we wrestled today. THS is tough and have a heck of a program. Their guys came to wrestle and beat us up first round, no doubt.
We weren’t ready to wrestle and it showed, but that’s why this tournament is great for all these teams, it’s tough and shows many teams deserve the recognition of their hard work. You have an #8 seed knock off a #1 and a last minute voted in #4 Columbus East battle through and make it to the finals against a solid #2 Mishawaka.
No excuses, we have to do better, if we want to win a team title. Hats off to THS for knocking us off, Columbus East for showing they deserved to be there with the vote in with a runner up finish and to Mishawaka for taking home the title.
The doors is open if you want to come help coach these guys up. I know I can always improve as a coach and could use some more knowledge.

@maligned would be the one to answer that question. Sounds like IHSAA adopted those #'s.

Look's like we should petition for next year to be a normal Friday night again. This has been a mess. The Friday morning has been really inconvenient for some parents & fans to even make it there. Those kids deserve a hype and packed crowd too. Just my thoughts.
How would the IHSAA take to that petition though? Sounds to me over the past several years, they'd find a way to make it more difficult for wrestlers, coaches and fans to enjoy the experience.
-
Are they not selling upper level tickets? Is that where they expect coaches and wrestlers, who didn't buy tickets for a seat, to sit when they aren't warming up/getting ready?

It seems the Kentucky Waterfalls have made a big return this year.
Which wrestler has pulled off the best mullet for the state finals this year?
Dalton is a trend setter and front runner but who else is pulling off some sweet 80’s hair?

Because I don't feel like looking it up, are there any unranked wrestlers left?
Anthony Walker from Greenwood at 152.

I have to believe Mason Parris did this his senior year didn't he?

Who do I make the check out to?
They should make it a charity match. Winner gets the check to their charity or club of their choice.

Are veterans on Saturday or Sunday for ISWA State? I'll be mat side with the slow clap ready.

How does Y2 obtain so much detailed data like this?
Those fancy rankings and the results page are pretty awesome aren't they? Y2 should change his name to.
With that being said, I love all the information that comes out of it. Appreciate all that work you guys put together to show this kind of fun information.

152 at Evansville - Anthony Walker of Greenwood takes out Kade Law in ticket round.

Great article. Makes you rethink the ever popular Dan Gable quote, "Once you've wrestled, everything else in life is easy."
Sounds like wrestling might be one of the easier things Silas has experienced so far in his young life. Wishing nothing but the best for the Allred family.
And major kudos, to the CIA group, Eppert, Gill and Ulmer for raising that amount of money to help their family out. Awesome of you guys to do that.

But they can't be left at your team area with the rest of your stuff?
Who leaves them out? Leave em out and the wrestlers might try to eat them. Kids will eat anything during a tournament.

Would like to the new commissioner follow other states and sanction women’s wrestling sooner rather than later.

This sounds like the most plausible solution to all our state tournament problems.
