Wrestler 1- most head to heads and no losses to the group
then criteria resets
Wrestler 2- most head to head wins
criteria resets
Wrestler 4- beat 5 who beat 3
Wrestler 5- beat 3
Wrestler 3
this is ultimately how it ended up being seeded. wild though a kid who's been in semi-state rankings all year long takes one bad loss after losing in triple OT to the kid who's the 1 seed and ends up as the 5 seed. Obviously the criteria was followed and this was seeded correctly just a little crazy to think about. We have to wrestle these kids regardless but this weight was a wild one and should be very fun to watch as everyone in this weight is a solid wrestler and is going to go out and compete.

The record reported is supposed to include forfeits... you then take the forfeits out when the criteria of winning percentage comes to play. Whats posted on the bracket is supposed to be your official record.
we were told before the seeding meeting that we had to remove forfeits when entering them on track. We then added the forfeits back in after the seeding was complete.

I suspect this is a bunch of 106s. If so, should be an interesting sectional at that weight.
That would be correct. Should be interesting to watch!

good lord...sooo...
wrestler 1 is the 1 seed
the 2 seed is wrestler 2 because he has the most head to head wins in the round robin
the 3 seed is wrestler 4 because everything resets and he beat 5 who beat 3
reset...
4 seed is wrestler 5 because he beat wrestler 3
5 seed is wrestler 3 because thats how it ends...
So I’ll throw another wrench in.
wrestler 6 is also included and has the lowest win percentage but has a win and a loss to wrestler 5 with wrestler 5 having the latest win but wrestler 3 has a win over wrestler 6. Does that change the record against common opponents criteria? -
Wrestler 1-(19-2) wins over 2,3,5 no losses to anyone in field pretty clear number 1 (freshman)
Wrestler 2-(15-5) record .75 win percentage has wins over wrestler 4,5
regional qualifier.
Wrestler 3-(19-7 Record) .73 Has win over wrestler 2 loss to wrestler 5
semi-state qualifier
Wrestler 4- (7-3 record) .70 win percentage. Has win over wrestler wrestler 5 and loss to Wrestler 2
semi-state qualifier
Wrestler 5- (10-5 record) .667 win percentage. Has 2 losses to wrestler 4, one loss to wrestler 2 and a win over wrestler 3. (Freshman)

Can't wait to see those 106'ers vs local boys in a few weeks at Regional. Levi Johns of Bluffton has been outstanding this year. It's going to be a blast.
Our sectional alone could get wild. You add Keith from cowan, the kid from Winchester who I believe just beat Keith and Reno from Wes del. Then we go to regionals and add in johns, Moore and smedley and some pretty solid kids are not going to make it out.

Ayden Bollinger Delta over Joey Cline Yorktown 6-2 in finals at HHC

@132 Stud Pendleton freshman 16U Greco state champ
Jackson Todd(not to be confused with the other tough Jackson Todd from @Y2CJ41Fw Carrol) knocked off #21 Zach Haughton in sv 7-5... Before falling to Thrine in the finals.. Todd only has 3 losses with 2 coming to the older Thrine.. He impressed me the few times I've seen him this year and know he'll only be getting better like his namesake before him.. He teched Searcy and Illinois state champ In off season Greco and is a big 32 pounder.
Todd is a stud and agreed he looks huge at 132

Wish I could have seen Boone vs Jett, they're both fun to watch and it looks like it was a good close match
It was very fun to watch. A few really good scrambles and some really good top wrestling by both of them. Jett is a stud and that weight will be very fun to watch at sectionals especially adding brooks from Daleville in the mix too plus stebbins is also very solid.

I can post them tomorrow but I didn’t copy everyone’s records down. 106, 126, 138, 145 should be awesome weights overall with some great early round matchups. Cline vs Bollinger in semis with winner taking on Keith or Reno at 106. Boone vs Stebbins again in the semis with winner getting winner of Brooks Daleville and Jett Cowan. Tuttle and Gerenscer at 138 potential finals and Rhonemus, Davenport, and Abbott at 145. I think most the weight classes will be very competitive and the semifinal round could have some huge team race implications.

Owen Valley: Coach Casey Bybee is an awesome assistant coach. Steven Spicer is an awesome head coach. They are both fully committed to developing the Owen Valley wrestlers into full-on quality men and competitors. I am very thankful for them both. They have totally turned the program around 100% in a few years' time. The staff shows up in-season, off-season, any time. They care about the kids and I'm sure they've turned down more lucrative and prestigious offers. Thanks to all the coaches that help us parents get the important lessons wrestling can teach to our kids. Happy new year!
I completely agree with this! We saw them at nearly every offseason tournament. I coached a high rollers team this summer and even when they weren’t coaching they were there supporting their kids. They have built some pretty tough wrestlers there and great kids as well. Every single one that wrestled for us approached me and said hi this weekend at Mooresville. Keep up the great work down there you guys are doing awesome!

106 seemed to have some ranked kids and unranked that are pretty tough. Halevi, Ash, Leonard (beat ash in quarters), Bollinger, Cline, Gentry from Mooresville seemed pretty tough as well.

Where did this young man come from? That's a nice win. Elliot is pretty good.
I agree Elliot is tough he actually beat us last year…Its Cole’s third year of wrestling so he’s starting to figure it out. We have a handful of talented kids that are in their 3rd year ever wrestling that includes Cline and New at 220.

Mason Todd jumping over Jared Brooks on a low single was wild. Also Logan Wagner had a nasty headlock on Triana his freshman year. Then the center grove kid that was tough that spladled and stuck Drew Hughes. Don’t know why I can’t remember the name because he’s around my age

The Heistands and the Milius twins from Yorktown, also the Bratchers from Eastbrook.
Rhett- state champ, multiple time placer
Andrew- Multiple time placer might have gotten 3rd twice
Brenton- I believe was a couple time ticket rounder
Remo- multiple time semi-state qualifier
Eric- 3x state qualifier 1x ticket round
They also had cousins Dax and Hunter who were both qualifiers at 182 and HWT
Yorktown also had Dillon and Devon Jackson
Dillon placed 3rd twice and qualified once Devon was qualifier then 2x runner up 1x champ
Yorktown also had Erik and Mykel Johnson
Erik placed 6th and 2nd losing to escobedo in finals and I believe mykel was a few time semi-state guy

I completely agree. I didn’t say that with the intent that I believe there was any wrongdoing whatsoever on the part of any of the coaching staff. I know that coaching staff as most of us in the area do and I know they would not do something like that to gain a competitive advantage. I have also talked with that coaching staff which they were kind enough to call and offer an explanation which I wasn’t really owed at all. I actually deleted my original post but it still shows because it was quoted. I deleted it because I felt it painted a bad light on an amazing coaching staff that I look up to and respect. I apologize to them if it came across as me implying there was wrongdoing because that was not my intent. Ultimately I don’t think it would have mattered anyways because of the head to head criteria. I am very excited to watch this weight and all the weights this weekend and I wish you all the best of luck.
