I guess this topic could be inter woven with another topic then..................because if the coaches send their kid out there against a much more dominant opponent instead of giving a FF and then the dominant opponent takes him down 27 times in a match you guys will not be happy with that either.  So the coach saves the kid from that and just FF's and now you are not happy with that.  I thought this was a sport for tough kids (not basketball) where we all know what we are getting into (coaches and wrestlers).  IF a kid is in the weight class on a team then he should wrestle if he is there and do the best he can.  If the dominant wrestler takes him down 27 times in a match and the kid doesn't like it he should do something to stop getting taken down. 
It seems we are trying to protect the weak and punishing the stronger kids (i.e. penalizing for too many TD's, and for someone FF'ing to them).  How about just stepping to the line and wrestling and making stronger better members of society out of these boys ?

Concur. I think what you guys (Fabio-OTR) are doing is visionary, seriously. That doesn't mean it will catch on but with the way today's millennial consumes their info/data via social media it seems that to grow the sport it is the thing to do. Let's face it, they aren't reading the papers or watching the 5pm WISH-tv news!!! It's kinda like the old tv commercial where the tag line was "they'll tell 2 friends"...take all the wrestlers' social media follower #'s, they post on their platforms so it goes out to "x" number more and maybe 5-10 of those "friends/follows" watch and get the bug to go watch/participate in an event and viola!! Sport grows. I hope it catches on for you guys. I think I see the vision and support what you're doing. I hope to be watching if I can figure out the technology as I'm an old crusty newspaper reader/tv news guy. Thanks.

I was going to go with 152 - but I didn't want to see any #TheCounty comments. Dangit - I hashtagged.

I used 2 hands, 1 foot and my cubicle neighbors 2 gloves sitting on her desk and was still a little short so I found 3 tootsie rolls in my desk drawer (good thing the score prediction wasn't 29 !!!!)

I can tell you that the talk of a new location with full size mats to help out with the speed of the tournament and to help accommodate the athletes in a more suitable fashion (I mean come on it is a state tournament and putting kids no matter what weight class on 1/3rd mats is absurd) is likely going to happen after this year. 
The regional discussion is a great one and I am a supporter but it would take much more structure and help from those that want to volunteer to help it be a reality.  If that is you and you feel like you can help then contact the IHWCA and let them know you are willing to help out and solve the MS state issues.  See if you can attend the planning meetings for the '19 MS state season and actively help to make a difference.
I, as the Kids Director for ISWA, obviously have a vested interest in MS state as we get our MS national team for the Heartland Trip from the state placers so I also support the best way possible of seeding the tournament in hopes that the end result is the best kids finishing the day (or night) at the top of the podium.  I would hope that the IHWCA would be willing to listen to people and ideas to possibly improve this process.  With this being said that is who and where you need to direct all of the ideas for this to see if change of any kind can be taken into consideration.

I'm never going to get mad at someone doing that to any of my kids. If you don't want to see that don't wrestle the kid once he steps on the mat it's go time as long as they are following the rules. If you think that kid can't handle that don't wrestle him

I just went thru the above line up match by match and won't say who in each match is gonna win in my prediction (because I truly like parents, and kids on both teams too much) but I came up with score of..............................28-27 PM

Just let me seed the whole tournament.

Do this next year and give enough notice and you may actually get Fabio to drive up and stream it live while doing analyst commentary on matches.  He puts out a fantastic product (well except for 1 thing broadcasted from a training academy announcing something super important for #TheCounty & #PainTrain................but my therapist says I have to let go of that and say I forgive you @Fabio Jr.).
The guy is going to do great things over the next few yrs to help grow the sport if he is allowed to do them !!!

Wheeler high school is having senior wrestling night on 1/10/18 at 5:10 pm.  We are stealing the rage on the stage idea from floyd central high school.  Please come out and see the wrestling mat on the auditorium stage.  Looking forward to it.  Should be a great night.  Thanks to all involved.
