Thanks for keeping up on Mason!  He weighed in at 253 lbs.  the other night against Iowa.  Last 3 or 4 weigh-ins been at 255.  Love following and seeing all the Indiana boys doing great in College.  I'm Masons dad, Mark.
 

Shout out to BJ at Bellmont...top 5 for matches and one of the best winning %.  I was a dumb basketball/baseball player and he coached me up my first year of wrestling as a soph. I wasn’t the typical “born to wrestle” Bellmont kid, but I did alright and helped the team to a 21-0 1991 record our senior year. It had its ups and downs compared to what it took to “play” b-ball  but I learned so many life lessons and love the sport! Thx BJ!!!

This is a terrific piece of research but to show my bias: Little old Adams County has the #2 & #10 programs with Bellmont and Adams Central. South Adams has been gaining ground. We like to think we are the number one wrestling county in the State.

With postseason amongst us, what is the most anticipated and greatest match you’ve seen in the state of Indiana? For me it’s an easy pick of Nick Lee vs Chad Red. The wrestling gods did us the ultimate favor of putting them in opposite brackets. The match had everything with Lee leading and Red closing it out. The match had it’s own controversy that is still debated to this very day.  I want to thank both these fellas for elevating Indiana High School wrestling while giving us fans something to talk about for ages!

Cant forget about Robert Samuels and Rickie Clark for I think 3rd a couple years ago.

It can be cyclical....I remember a day Bellmont and Snider would have the tightest duals...fun and exciting! Carroll....well back in those days would win a couple matches and not come close to winning the dual. Things change and evolve and reinvent....hence the current dynamic!

Not close from the start.  Nick had 3:32 in riding time.  Red's only score was when Lee let him up w/ :48 left, so he could take him down again to get the major.  Dominating!

Only correction for Leo would be Veach at 113 and not 106. Thanks for the rankings.

Let's just hold off on the name calling and enjoy the match for what it was. Two potential NCAA champs holding nothing back, showing what Indiana wrestling is all about. Lee showed why he is deserving of a Penn State scholarship, and Red showed why he is a undefeated 4 timer. It was the best finals match I have seen since Vega beat Schafer. Sorry, Mauer v. Dolly fans.

Martin had Davis on his back at Garrett and some refs would've called a pin....5-5 in the 3rd period...Davis came through though. Martin is out...hurt his hand at Norwell meet.

I think Davis will control the field at 113 pretty handily

Major...This thread made me remember those Stark/Brooks/Vaughn days with Ashley/Ruble/Krueckeburg....fun matches with attitude!
