  1. Is this happening now, and where can I get updated results? Sorry I am not gettting anywhere doing my own search and thought this would be easier.
  2. JMO... Angel Escobedo (Senior) Chad Red (Senior) Alex Tsirtsis (Junior) Jason Tsirtsis (Sophomore) Reece Humphrey (Senior) Nick Lee (Junior) Andrae Hernandez (Senior) McKinley (Senior)
  3. I saw he just won a fight in Feb... Does anyone know his plans in the future?
  4. Agreed. 2012 is the best I have seen.
  5. I believe it is $10. Not 100% sure though. I just tried logging into Track and it gave me that price, so I am unsure if it is for both days or just tonight.
  6. Lake County has 20 Crown Point - 4 Lowell - 3 Griffith - 1 Hammond Morton - 1 Merrillville - 4 Hobart - 2 Munster - 1 Lake Central - 2 Hanover Central - 2
  7. Minus Rumph, I think Portage will get 6 into Saturday.
  8. I am counting 6 champs from EC Semi-State. 113, 120, 152, 160, 170, 285 (Davison will keep it exciting, but Rypel wins. I am also predicting the small upset of Parris over Woods)
  9. Location - Advantage Merrillville Parking - Advantage Merrillville Seating - BIG Advantage E.C Sound System - Slight edge Merrillville Pace of tournament (timing) - Big Advantage E.C. Concessions - Tie Championship match - Advantage Merrillville Overall atmoshpere - Tie I was really impressed on how smoothly things ran with this being the first year of EC hosting this event. There are a few things that need to be worked on, but that is very small in the grand scheme of things. I look forward to this tournment being held here for years to come. Things to work on: * The sound system wasn't very good. There was a crackling sound/buzzing throughout the entire meet. (Especially if you sat on the Westside) * The finals at Merrillville was really unique, because the fans were basically on top of the mat. It was very cool to be so close. Maybe if the mats were pulled to the middle, both sets of lower bleachers can be pulled out? Just a thought. * Obviously, I am beating a dead horse, but the spotlight would have been cool. Not a necessity, but if it could be planned a little better for next year. Please keep timing, pace, space, concessions. All were great! I think I speak for most when I say the space was the most enjoyable part. I wasn't sitting on my neighbors lap. Good job EC and all involved.
  10. I used to always oppose class wrestling on any level. Then I came around to understanding that class wrestling for teams is necessary and good for Indiana wrestling. I am now on the verge of at least understanding the concept of classing individual wrestling. However, I stll find something troubling. Mater Dei - is no question one of the best teams in the state, but would not be 3A if they followed strict class rules. We understand that they are an outlier, so we let them compete at the 3A level. But why do we do this? I agree they should be placed in 3A for the team tournament. But will they also be in 3A for the individual? If so, why do they get placed in 3A and someone from another 1 or 2A school doesnt get the chance to see if he could beat most of those 3A kids? In a previous thread it was mentioned that kids would love to win a state championship and it wouldnt matter what class it was in. If that was the case, then why wouldnt there be a strict 1A, 2A, 3A line drawn? Maybe there would be I just haven't been sold that class wrestling is needed for the individual just yet. (But I'm saying there is a chance.)
  11. But do any of them get to the second round with the Purple Hulk?
  12. I am seeing three state champs, and possibly another 2 finalists. (Just a guess of course, but like you said, still a really good regional)
  13. Still going with my gut... 106- Rooks 113- Cummings 120- Hildebrandt 126- Hudkins 132- Red 138- Lee 145- Lee 152- Lawrence 160- Covaciu 170- Hughes 182- Rypel (Davison will keep it CLOSE) 195- Tonte 220- Parris (I think Woods and Parris is a toss up) 285- Streck
  14. Hurt Lee - I will go with Red (6-2) Healthy Lee - I still go with Red but (3-1 SV) JMO of course, and between the Lee vs Red and Wood vs Parris potential matches - I am getting PUMPED!
  15. I also have him winning, but the Woods vs Parris match-up is one of my most anticipated match-ups.
  16. 106: Rooks 113: Cummings 120: Hildenbrandt 126: Hudkins 132: Red 138: Lee 145: Lee 152: Lawrence 160: Covaciu 170: Hughes 182: Rypel 195: Jones 220: Parris 285: Streck
  17. I agree the HCC and DAC seem to be the favorites.
  18. Really good question, I would also like to know. Really impressed me.
  19. Is it just me, but does the East Chicago Semi-State look tough? I know it is not the deepest, as NC usually and I feel still is. Still a long season and looking forward to enjoying it all! But I will leave this here, and check back later - my predictions on state champs... East Chicago - 7 New Castle - 4 Evansville - 2 Fort Wayne - 1
