Cael knows wrestling. Don't count out the Gorilla Hulk yet. Look for him to make improvements between now and Mongolia and from Mongolia to Rio. I think he has a chance to snag a bronze medal for us in Rio. If anyone understands how to get the absolute most out of an athlete it is Cael.

I've always agreed with that logic. If you look at collegiate programs their ratio of hours spent training versus competing is much larger than our youth's. I was just wondering if there was any data or scientific articles you have run across that cover this topic? Just asking for my own interest, I'm not trying to combat your statement.

I thought it was cool to see a big name in the Indy media writing about wrestling. I'm not saying it never happened, however I can't recall a time when the premiere sports writer in Indy wrote an article on wrestling.

I would like to echo the praise for the finals introductions. I think dressing our sport up like that can only help it grow.

Any team scores? I always remembered this to be considered one of the elite holiday tournaments around the state. Is that still the case?

As someone who is employed in a corporate environment I don't see cauliflower ear being an issue during the hiring process. Generally speaking, if a company made its hiring decisions on physical looks or deformities the amount of legal action and sanctions would be immense.

Pretty cool to see Jason Bryant post on Indiana Mat. It goes to show that this site offers impressive wrestling coverage AND that Indiana is becoming an important place on the wrestling map.

Congratulations to Reece Lefever, Ethan Farmer, Conner Lefever, and Riley Lefever! Finishing as all-american at any collegiate level is nothing short of spectacular.

Actually no, the way they called it was Waters was called for the "slam" from the top position with legs in. Then Gilman was called for unsportsmanlike conduct for trying to double leg Waters well after the whistle. There is a quick clip of it on Flo and I can honestly say that was the only time in which I have seen that situation called as a slam on the top guy. Interesting decision by the stripes on that one.

I watched Brownsburg VS Carmel the other night. Brownsburg is tough no doubt. Although, I think Carmel was only able to wrestle a few starters because of weigh in restrictions.
