Yes, Matt I'm the same dude. But I wasn't talking about High School wrestling. I was talking about whether Colleges could stay open.
Oh, and I'm also the same dude that sits next to you at Cobra and talks to you about Covid just in case you didn't know

anskinne reacted to Riley McClurg in Career Coaching Wins
Actually was just talking to Jimmy about this. I corralled his team stats while at Perry Meridian - he was 440-38. He also shared with me the following information (to the best of his knowledge):
Connersville: 32-21 Tri-West: 15-18 Perry Meridian: 440-38 Warren Central: Around 70 wins Franklin: to be continued...
I know that Joe will want cold hard evidence, but without WC and Franklin the man is 487-77. He isn't too bad at this coaching thing.

This was my first year in attendance I personally thought that the tournament was ran fairly well both days. I have been to many tournaments in my day and I know that this could've been 100x worse. Thought Southport were awesome hosts had no issues with table workers and had some good options at the concession stand. Would like to thank all who put together this tournament and created an opportunity for these underclassman to see what they have against each other, I wish this was a thing back when I was in HS guess I should've been born a few years later. All in all a fun competitive weekend of GREAT wrestling time to get ready for next season!

anskinne reacted to Hornet Coach in Scratch Weight
If this is a rule, how can someone be eligible to wrestle in the sectional at a weight class without making scratch weight?
(1) of the qualifying weigh-ins must be at scratch weight for the weight class the wrestler is entered into the IHSAA tournament series. A weigh-in at scratch weight is defined as a wrestler weighing in at or below the actual poundage of the weight class (i.e. – a wrestler weighs in at 112.9 achieves a scratch weigh in for the 113 pound weight class)

anskinne reacted to Coach Nieman in Scratch Weight
You aren't eligible at that weight if you didn't make scratch.

The real question is, what lucky wrestler gets the 3rd placer first round of Regionals?

Looks like we will have Franklin Central and Beech Grove in the room today. A few others have been in. Come in and roll.

Come get some live in at Southport!!! A program on the rise. Former Purdue Wrestlers Nick Skinner and Sean Schmaltz will be here rolling on the mats with you. We had about 30 kids last week. Plenty of talent in the room for everyone. We wrestle in three separate 20 minute spurts. A lot of like, and situational wrestling. Focusing on Freestyle and Greco right now. Enter door 9 of Southport High School. The wrestling room is at the bottom of the ramp on the left. Come get some work in!
Thursdays through Greco State.
6:30 - 8pm

Sorry to hear about this Kyle. I lost my dad in July. I know the pain. Prayers from Nick Skinner, Sean Schmaltz, and Southport wrestling.

Southport would be interested in hosting in the future. Get in contact with me if you are looking for a large Indianapolis site. Can put 6 mats down in one gym with enough space for all spectators and wrestlers to be in the stands. Ask anyone that was at Fresh/Soph. State last year. It turned out really well. Huge thanks to Mark Durham and Southport Administration!
