  1. I'm not galagore, but I'm guessing he's in part referring to the fact that 95% of 1A kids would have a one-weekend postseason. It's hard to get excited about a sport when no one on your team can get past sectional.

  4. Eracleo Vallejo will be our clinician on April 4th. He will be making the trip down from Wabash College where he has coached for 11 seasons. Wabash is coming off a Runner-up placement by 1 point at NCAAs this season. Roc was a D3 All-American (5th) at Manchester College. He brings a wealth of knowledge and was an absolute destroyer on his feet in college. Outstanding guy to learn from!

    Team State 2023

Whiteland needs to get an at large bid to this 9 starting Seniors next season Buttler & Brooks both went to state. 6 of the made it to semi state. Grandinetti won Sectionals and then got concussed in practice and missed the regionals. While kids he beat went on to state. Warriors should be in a conversation for at large.(IMO)

  7. My gut tells me the super sectional would be detrimental to struggling programs from small schools.

  8. Option X: ALL wrestlers in the state meet at 1 location. Randomly draw wrestlers to the mat, just like WWE Royal Rumble.... last wrestler standing is the single class-one weight State Champion.... no holds barred!

  10. I feel if we were to go to 3 weeks we need to plan it as if it could become a permanent thing because there's a chance ihsaa could like the format used and choose to keep it. That's said I like sectionals the way it is... 9 to 10 teams top 4 move... alot of small and or struggling programs rely a on the success of having regional and semi-state qualifiers... any expansion to sectional sizes is going to negatively affect smaller struggling teams. An idea would be with regionals being a short tournament would be to skip it an have 4 sectionals meet to make a regional round that functions like semi-state. Yes that would mean there would be 8 regional/semi-state sites. I know in the past the idea of having more than 16 state qualifiers have been suggested. What if we do that and have the top 3 at regional/semi-state make state giving us 24 qualifiers. Since they showed they're willing to run friday of state all day we could run the 1st round 2 vs 3s then the second round champions vs the winner of the first round... obviously wrestle back would be ideal but we need to assume that won't happen. To me this would be better than option 1 or 3. But maybe I'm on an island on my own... or we go with option C, class wrestling... No? Too soon in the thread? Ok ignore the last part.

  12. I’ve seen a lot of comments about how team state needs to be in a major venue, but before when it was IHSAA it was at Center Grove. It would be really cool to be at Hinkle Fieldhouse, but I think each class having its own location eliminates a lot of the problems that were experienced when it was in one venue. Spotlighting the finals under the lights was definitely a very cool experience this year for 4A
