    Weight cut

Please enlighten me on this rule that allows Coaches to cheat? As a coach I turn in my weigh-ins weekly to our ad who in turn sends those to the IHSAA. Wrestlers have to pass hydration tests so that they can be on their weight loss plan which allows for only 1.5% weight loss a week. Anything more than that isn't a qualifying weigh-in. They need 6 of those, and a scratch weight at their weight class also.

  2. A. Bethel of Wabash (formerly Mt. Vernon) records a fall against 15th ranked Justin Thomas from Oklahoma in the first round. He then went on to lose back to back 1 point matches.

    Fort Wayne semi-state

Going to try and get the first edition of the Ft. Wayne semi-State rankings out by the end of the week. If you have any viable information on big weight changes, potential sleepers, or off-season results, please send me a message so I can try to get it as accurate as possible. Thank you

  5. Yep Neil, I see this system of scoring forfeits in duals that I have went to across the USA. I have also seen teams not enter a "lesser" kid on the roster to give up 3 points instead of 6. Really don't like changing traditional scoring either. Actually.... I'm not good with change as a whole (in most things). I guess it's just my nature. #OldSchool . And really.. A kid that weighs 116 can wrestle a kid that weighs 175!!! I am positive that this was not considered. No Bueno.

  6. We started this thing with 19 classes. People were having trouble filling spots so we lowered it to 17 years ago. Now its down to 15. I really don't like this at all. We as coaches need to do a better job getting kids out (myself included). My team has had forfeits the last couple of years. Most teams have had one or two per year. So it appears that the ISWA is just going to limit spots until everyone can fill a team. I was asked to give an opinion (by a board member). Here is where I stand.... Do a better job filling teams and don't limit "opportunities" for teams that have been doing a good job filling teams. Also.. If you give up a forfeit... tell your studs to go out there and get a pin and get your points back. Also.. teams are building teams to win open duals tourneys (with kids from all over). So... when they have to go by the guidelines at state, they cant use their "hired guns" and cant fill teams. This is a BIGGEST reason for the forfeits. Sometimes it is not that they cant fill teams. It is the fact that they don't fill teams to meet state guidelines and the kids from their schools don't feel like a part of the team and don't go. Its a choice for some teams. Don't like it.... at all.

    Time of Da year

Well wraslin fans first weekend in November means da worlds greatest sport is in da swing of things. Lots of quality wraslin happen dis weekend. Michigan State open happin - a number of fellow rats competing. Since da rat is no longer slaven for da man so I will be doin some traveling in da 250. Some of you fellow rats looking for a road trip hit me up. Might check out da scuffle or catch a penn st / Iowa dual. Also ecxcited about tings happening in b-town. Got a number of rats down there. And Ole Angel goin to straighten out da mess Goldie locks screwed up for 20 years. Gonna take some time but he is gonna keep dat talent at home. Bein a retired guy got some time on my hand. So any rats need a roof put on a brake job not many tings da rat can't handle. I do it for a fair price and won't cheat ya, Just keep da old lady away - they get infatuated wit da rats muscles. As far as da high school seen as usual we will lookin for allot of gold here. 5-6 aint a bad year for da region. So as usual you guys better sharpen your pencils cause your gonna need to by February. Fyi Da rate doesn't do any tutoring in English. Aint much help on term papers. But if you need a little help in wood, metal or electric shop I can help out. Da Rat
