Al Smith listed first.
106- #2 Jones vs #3Campbell (Jones 3-2 ot) I have to trust the rankings bout this could go either way.

113- #4 Lewis vs #2Rioux  (4-2 Rioux) Rioux only loses to Dickman instate.

120- #2 Jendreas vs #8 Henderson (Jendreas by fall) Gavin remains dominant.
126- #2 Hawkins vs #1 in KY Raney (Raney by fall) kid is super slick

132- #4 Demarco (who might be the second best in the state and can make a run at Hockaday) vs #1 in KY Raney part 2 (Raney gets pressed early wins 12-5)

138- #2 (soon to be #1 after beating Kyrel 6-4) Shepherd vs # 7 Syra (Shepherd 5-1)

144- #1 Courtney vs KY 20-0 Jenkins (5-2 Courtney)

150- #1 Kresja vs # unranked Vanover (Hunter May fell ill so 1 v 2 doesn’t happen, so Kresja by fall)

157- #2 Braubender vs a very accomplished Griffin from IL. (Griffin 3-0)

165- #1 Rinehart vs #17 Hallet (Rinehart by tech)

175- #3 Costello vs #5 Emerine (Emerine in 3-2 TB)

190- #2 Penola vs IHPO champ from KY  Kiser (Kiser 1-0)

215- #1 Clark vs #14 (grossly underrated Terry) (Terminator gonna terminate Clark by fall).
285- #1 Clark vs KY Guillame holds a state title in KY. (Clark in OT)

final score Al Smith wins 35-21

IMO I think emd holiday classic takes this one. After being at the classic both days some of these kids that one are majorly underrated looking at these predictions

Who is underrated? It looked like a pretty even tournaments, The Al smith is way tougher and if Mishawaka calls I think a lot of those teams would jump at the opportunity

Maybe Avon would like to come get in the mix at Al smith

The real question is how come Al Smith can have wrestlebacks for true 3rd but our state tournament can’t?

Thats a good question maybe gym size

but I know Coach Sandefer loves wrestling and loves the Al Smith tournament. Teams come there to get state level matches and Mishawaka makes that happen

Don't think it's debatable . The Al Smith featured 6 top 10 (4A)teams compared to 3 for EMD . The Al smith also featured (3A) #2,#5,#9 and #10 , (2A) #1 ,#3 and #5 , (1A) #5. I would bet Crown Point and Center Grove are better than any team at EMD .

It’s really impressive, at Al smith you had 2 nationally ranked teams in CP and CG

Why would Griffen major brabender? They wrestled at IHPO 8-1 and it was a closer match to me watching it in my opinion

All of these schools put on great events!  Thank you Coach Sandefer and Mishawaka athletic department for hosting the Al Smith.  Crown Point has been to the Spartan Classic, and  Coach Schaefer has always offered an invite to Mater Dei.  I love the variety our state has, and that there’s a holiday tournament for every team all over the state.  It’s not about which is the best, but what’s the right place for your team. Tournaments are a lot of work, and holiday tournaments are even harder.   Thank you to all those coaches and admins who host and organize holiday tournaments.

Also the last time Hawkins and Raney wrestled I believe it was 2-0 Raney

190 Kiser has a loss to Penola this year already. I'd go off of that result.

Luke Penola (Zionsville) over Lane Kiser (Trinity (Louisville)) (Dec 7-3)

In my simulation of the dual, Hawkins and Penola went out to eat the night before and had Asian food that made them sick Saturday morning. So they weren’t at full strength and therefore, lost their matches lol
