maligned
If seeds hold up, placement and advancement points project EMD as a 7-point favorite over Reitz and a 30-point favorite over Castle.
navy80
Sims prolly isnt handling the weight cut very well, he should go back to
IUBjj171
OK, if everyone else is going to pick...I might as well get my picks down. They are most likely wrong, but I do see some upsets happening. It should be a good week-end of wrestling! 103 VanHook 112 Kuhn 119 Moody 125 Henderson 130 Dowdy 135 Rueger 140 Chamberlain 145 Sims 152 Welch 160 Weikel 171 Boots 189 Sandwith 215 Daugherty 285 Wimpelberg i think that 145 will be welch just becuase their style is funky and can be hard to handle. 152 is welch easily and 285 will be daughtery

catfish
Could someone explain how this tournament is seeded? Looks like the top 4 are seeded in order and then it is a blind draw? There are forfeits that go to the 2 seed and the 1 seed has to wrestle. I have always wondered how the seeding work at tourney's.
rgray
I think Hall is going to take 103 He wrestled really flat at the 10 way and I hope he is goin to turn it around at the right time to make a run at winning state
nutsdad
Russ you talk to much!! lol They had a good match at the 10 way!!! It would be good to see it again BUT there are a few guys that want to knock both Nut and Vanhook out so they may not see each other!! Good luck to all wrestlers and I can't wait for it to start in the morn'n!!!!

There are forfeits that go to the 2 seed and the 1 seed has to wrestle. I have always wondered how the seeding work at tourney's. Usually in a 8 man bracket the top 4 are seeded and the others are a blind draw. In a 16 man bracket like the sectional at Evansville the top 6 are seeded and the others are a blind draw. catfish
My totally incorrect picks are as follows: Reitz with 4 firsts, 4 seconds, 3 thirds, 2 fourths.; Castle with 6 firsts, 2 seconds, 1 third, and 1 fourth.; MD with 2 firsts, 5 seconds, 5 thirds, and 2 fourths. I don't know how the points are scored for the team portion, but I believe Reitz will win with the most placers. Feel free to contradict me. Champs 103 Hall 112 Kuhn 119 Moody 125 Henderson 130 Dowdy 135 Rueger 140 Chamberlain 145 Welch 152 Welch 160 Weikel 171 Boots 189 Rosebrock 215 Daugherty 285 Daugherty MD85 You are impressive. 100% correct picks on the winning wrestlers at the SIAC tourney! md85
MD85 You are impressive. 100% correct picks on the winning wrestlers at the SIAC tourney! I used the method of throwing darts at the brackets to pick the winners. We will see how this pans out for the sectional after the seedings come out. There are forfeits that go to the 2 seed and the 1 seed has to wrestle. I have always wondered how the seeding work at tourney's. The SIAC is seeded by locking all the coaches in a room and the one who can stay awake the longest wins. Actually the seeding for this shouldn't be as hard as it may sound. Sure you are going to have a few bumps along the way - the 215 class is a great example this year as no one really knew who would be wrestling after illnesses and some bumping around in the last couple of weeks, but this year the records were pretty straight forward. Most of the kids had wrestled at least once and the talent level was pretty defined in most weight classes. Few real surprises. Now the placement of FF in this tourney was a bit odd, I will give you that...but the only way to eliminate that is get kids in the wrestling rooms in every school ;D
