Just a little extra info on the Hobart job
Middle school record in duals 64-0 in the last 5 years
Hobart Wrestling Club is one of the longest and largest running (78’) non academy clubs with typically 50-60 wrestlers and several state placers at the ISWA levels. As well as wrestlers Training with RWA,Elite, and Bulldog Elite
Hobart Wrestling Club also acts as a booster for ALL of Hobart wrestling. This year a beautiful new mat was purchased...new singlets.  HwC hosts 2 open tournaments drawing a combined 800 wrestlers plus Golf outings and other fundraising events.
The Hs is less than 10 years...old great wrestling room, fieldhouse, and gymnasium...already expanding weight and cardio rooms and building a new pool.
New Athletic Director that seems to really have his eyes on what the program could be.  Former wrestler and CP coach Jake Rodriguez as an Assistant Pricipal which is nice to have understanding people in the Administration.
RTC host as well as IHSAA regionals host..To go along with a great tradition...and community support...could be a great job for someone who wants to pump some new energy into this program and take it up to yet another level!!
we have some young hungry Brickies coming up !!

BlackshirtD got a reaction from Coach Brown in ISWA Folkstyle State - adding sectionals, regionals...
The hardest part about that is many club tournaments fall after HS state so. A long time ago you had to place top 3 at a tournament to qualify for state....but lets be honest...there are almost 2000 wrestlers there this weekend....Thats a lot of money to put the piggy bank. My biggest concern is some of the start times.  Peewees starting at 2pm is a nightmare..These kids have a hard time staying into it after round 2 in a 4 man bracket and 2 hours into a tournament...now 4 and 5 year olds get to run around for hours before they even wrestle...Those who are gonna be on the podium are those who can fight through the adversity of naptime...lol

Fattore impressed me the most and it had nothing to do with his wrestling.  This young man carried himself like a champion after a questionable call.  Nicely done young man!

Good luck to the 170lbers the finals. From what I was told Crary isn’t wrestling in the 3rd place match. So Fattore outscored opponents 34-0 and got 3rd. No matter what you think of the call that has got to be a first. Unscored upon.... and didn’t win

Just saw the video on FB, my biggest issue is that by the time the red got into position there definitely was no fall so he was just assuming he was flat before. I’ve always been told if you don’t see it you don’t call it

Fattore was spotted warming up with Rader before the finals. Not sure I have ever seen two guys that just wrestled in the semi-finals warm up with each other.

At best it was a touch fall. At worst they robbed a kid from a title match.

I’m now a fan of Fattore...he handled that loss with class. He didn’t throw a fit or take off running to the locker room.

Man. I’ve never seen a defensive pin called that fast.  Not saying it didn’t happen I couldn’t see his shoulders from the side I was on. But mat 3 refs  are certainly making their presence felt in big matches today. Unusual calls.

Man I hope so!   As his dad, I know my son would never lose if “karma” was an actual thing!  Lol!  Did he overreact?  Yeah, maybe.  He also immediately felt regret and without prompting took it upon himself (remember a 16 year old kid) to go speak to Hobart’s coaches, Tylor, Tylor’s parents, our coaches, his teammates, his family, and others. You need to remember that Tylor (AWESOME KID AND FAMILY!) and Brock have been very good friends, teammates and wrestling partners for years at RWA. Brock was extremely excited to win against someone he has so much respect for.  My son...no I’m sorry....my CHILDREN have been raised to be respectful and humble, and both are.  I couldn’t be prouder of Brock, the man he is becoming, the student he is, the friend he is, the brother he is, the teammate he is, and the fact that wrestler doesn’t even come close to the top of the list of great things he is!  He also would like it pointed out he squished a bug off his shoulder, not a “cigarette” lol!  Man I also really hope your “karma” comes back twice as hard on him this week!  Thanks for the motivation too!  Love the Peele Family!

Hobart guy here too.  Brock is an awesome kid. It was a big win for him. Maybe didn’t love it but it’s okay. Portage has a bunch of good kids. It’s all good.

He had a great tournament. Both in the semis against Peele and then again against Triana he was getting controlled and both matches down 6-1 going into the 3rd.  Went takedown crazy and cutting against peels to send it to it and the eventual takedown win. Then with a minute left hit a TD and back points on Triana to tie it and send it to OT then he again got the takedown for the win. He doesn’t panic.. just gets to work. To be honest he looked Big at 120.. didn’t look undersized at all. It’ll be interesting.

There are many ways to look at it...not sure it's fair to say Hobart dropped the ball though. Great guy, going to a great program with some awesome guys that are going to be mat side.  We'll miss you Bren.. Best of luck at CP and at Elite Athletic Club.
