Not my greatest wrestling memory but I tell the story of getting booed out of Rec Hall. I was wrestling heavyweight at 205 and lost 6-2 to 2 time AA and MMA fighter Pat Cummins.  I was just trying to survive and stalling a lot. I can still here those boos and that wasn't in their strongest years.😂😂
I'm sure he will one day tell the story because it is a good story. 
The other funny part of that trip was when Greg Schafer and I were in the van together he said "Sisson I liked you when you were wrestling 184 but the minute you started wrestling heavyweight I hated you. I hate all heavyweights!" My feelings would have been hurt if the giant Mt Dew I was drinking and Doritos I was eating at the time didn't taste so good.

Our mats were really old and they could not be re-conditioned so my AD replaced them all.  2 full mats plus an extra section.  The goal is to never pick these up.  We left the old sections below to stop the mats from sticking to the floor.
My AD is super supportive and my principal use to be the head coach! 😀

That Floyd Central room looks sharp. Had the opportunity to view the Brownsburg room. In a word: fantastic. It also includes office and locker rooms. Very impressive. The rest of their school is undergoing a big expansion/remodeling. Their band room was unbelievable. Got the opportunity to see the Merrillville room years ago when I interviewed there years ago. It is jaw-dropping when you walk in there. 
We are getting a large expansion on our facility at Pendleton Heights. We will have three full mats with a workout space on the one end. Very appreciative to our school administration and school board for their support for the addition. It will be one of the state's finest when it is finished. We will be in the new space for next season, the 50 year anniversary of Arabian Wrestling. See you all at Bankers Life Friday!

We have it pretty good, great support from our Admin.  Brownsburg has a brand new room that is pretty impressive!

Each regional is dependent on the schools in their regional

Keep in mind the specifics of this situation and the rules as quoted directly from the 2018-19 NFHS Wrestling Rules book. Various situations have different criteria for what can be changed and the time line involved, specifically, tournament (this case) vs. duals.
The term to focus on is "earned", not, awarded. Again, once the technical fall has been "earned" the offensive wrestler cannot lose. With regard to other near-fall situations, a 2 or 3 point near-fall may be earned, yet, not awarded for various reasons; most often to allow for the near-fall situation to be concluded or possibly escalated. such as, a 2 point near-fall being escalated to a 3 point near-fall within the same sequence. Near-fall is not awarded at the conclusion of fall, because, once a fall has been secured the near-fall no longer exists; near-fall is exactly that, a "near-fall" or almost a fall, therefore, once a fall has been awarded there is technically no longer a near-fall in that situation. That is why near-fall is not awarded at the conclusion of a fall. 

Key words from Mr. Littlejohn: "earned" vs "awarded". Once the five count is done, the points are earned, even if they haven't been awarded yet.

The way that I have always understood it is that you have to questions the score/outcome in this case before your wrestler steps off of the mat.  Once your wrestler has stepped off of the mat you can no longer go back and question the scoring of the match.

Our theater department does an amazing job and puts on a great light show with music. We will once again have state announcer Kevin Whitehead doing the announcing.
