  1. Thanls but im interested in indiana tech not chertow.
  2. I've heard that there will be a camp this summer hosted by and at Indiana Tech. Can someone give me the specifics as to dates and costs?
  3. These guys have resumes that follow them. Delgado sets up his take downs off that "backing off" style and the ref's know it. Heck, McDonough's resume doomed him in his matches versus Delgado. Ref's knew McDonough's style is to try and funk his way out of td's so they give the offensive wrerstler (Delgado) and the defensive wrestler (McDonough) all kinds of time to work towards a td. Delgado masterfully worked his funk but it took him 30 to 45 seconds in each period that he secured a td (that kind of time is enormous and really worked against McDonough). I don't believe Megaludis was robbed at all. Delgado beat him in the dual and in the NCAA Finals because he had a superior strategy. I think the ref's give the proper due to wrestlers of this caliber. Frankly, I thought the stalling call against Dake was b.s. but Taylor, in the ref's mind, deserved a shot to escape or hit a reversal, neither of which he wass able to to with enough time to win the match.
  4. Great match, great champion and i thought taylor displayed great sportsmanship at the end of the match with two seconds left he merely reached down and and unstrapped his ankle bands. Quite a gentleman in defeat compared to metcalf of iowa.
  5. I think you mean "impetus." Sorry, couldn't help myself. I know, I'm a jag.
  6. Great post. I thought the quality of the reffing was top notch this past weekend at WC. Didnt realize there was such a concerted effort for evaluation, etc. Very impressive.
  7. Hats off to the iswa on another very well run tournament. Pat Culp and crew really have it running like a top and WC is a great venue as well. Shelfishly, it was nice when it was run at Huntington but it really does make sense to have it in the Indy metro area to give all a chance to travel easily. It seemed like this year there were more contestants than last year but maybe Im wrong. I know Cadet 100 only had 12 wrestlers last year and this year there were 24. Nice increase for that weight class.
  8. Thanks Jimtown. So, for large school, I have it 9 matches to 5 for Illinois, Indiana winning 106, 126, 145, 182 and 195, all decisions. Indiana gave up pins at 113, 132 and 152 and a major at 160. Sound accurate?
  9. Just trying to figure out the score for large school division. From the looks of it, thru 170, the score was 31-9, Illinois, is this accurate? 182 and 195 went to Indiana, what were those scores (any bonus pts?) as well as what happened at 220 and 285?
  10. I think, as stated before, no one is "celebrating" or making a big deal about the Welch victory, it was just pointed out that it was a nice win. Y2 felt the need to downplay the victory because he never believed either of the Welch kids would be successful at the next level. Is this stated in any of his previous posts? Not in so many words but it's pretty obvious from the tenor of his posts. Why does Y2 feel this way? Probably because he has an axe to grind with their h.s. coach (I believe it has to do with that coach wearing blue jeans to a wrestling competition). I am going to be a contrarian and hope NONE of the Indiana wrestlers wins a match at the NCAA's.
  11. I love it when people write stuff, then people jump on them, then the person gives us the rest of story. Mr, Toe, you asked a question as to should you be mad at your kid for breaking his trophy after he didnt pin everyone at a national tournament. Numerous people said yes, you should be angry. Then you feel the need to respond and explain that it happened after you got home, blah, blah. Write that in the first place if you feel the need to explain your kids actions. Btw, i love your taking the opportunity to brag about how good your kids are in this thread. Imaginitive for sure. Do you have any othe big national tournaments your kids dominated that we should hear about? Any other conversations with olympic coaches? Your adoring public needs to know.
  12. Ummm.....yes, in answer to your question. Unless your kid is uber talented and the next 4 timer (maybe he is, if so, forgive me) he probably needs a lesson in humility. One of my son's was really mad after a victory once and we had a fairly heated conversation (conversation is overstating it, he listened, I pontificated) regarding his expectations. We left it at unless he was willing to put in ridiculous amounts of extra time during the season, and during the off season (and believe me, he wrestles and trains plenty), then he needed to cool his jets. Jason Tsirtsis he ain't and I don't think even Tsirtsis would have the attitude of fury after any win.
  13. "If you ain't first, you're last!" - Reese Bobby (father of Ricky Bobby)
  14. Wanted to recognize the great job done today by the Carroll Wrestling Club at their Hyway tourney. It ran very smooth with minimal wait times between matches. Great facility and very professionally run. Added bonus, my boys and I were home in time to watch the b10 finals.
  15. Hes trolling you, my friend. Mr. Wisejohn/fabio wrestled for University of Findlay (formerly naia, now ncaa div 2). There probably isnt a bigger non d1 supporter on the board.
  16. Pretty sure the Russian mafia will get wrestling back in the olympics. I sincerely believe they will work their magic when it comes to prostitutes, $ and drugs which is what the ioc is looking for. Wierd that the meeting is taking place in St. Petersburg. The unified show of support is nice but unnecessary as the Russians have wrestling's back (so to speak).
  17. it doesnt seem the Scholastic Duals bring each states very best together. I think mustang is talking about each team being made up of all champs which I agree would be very cool. classed states would have a tough time choosing amongst their numerous champs.
  18. Im glad "nice fella bag" isnt a potty mouth word. Its one of my faves.
  19. more middle and light weight wrestlers placing from fw ss compared to years prior. Fw is definitely getting better.
  20. I respect you wrestlingfan182, wc182dad, caliboy, demoguy. No disrespect. I also love your family. Keep nurturing every wrestler in the state because without your steady hand im not sure where indiana wrestling would be. Make sure that when you reincarnate yourself be sure to put 182 in your screen name so we know unequivocally that its you (im sure well be able to figure it out by your atrocious grammar but why leave anything to chance). Lastly, keep living in past and remind us how great your son was in the many iswa tourneys he won.
  21. dont take this as a personal attack but you are a weirdo.
