Dingo Brigade got a reaction from RASSLER4LIFE in List of D1 national qualifiers with Indiana ties
Ok, ok, I apologize for my comments, and Sean Mappes is the reason why. Mappes pulls one of the biggest upsets of the tourney, knocking out returning All-American #2 seed Brian Realbuto of Cornell by a 6-5 score. Great job by the state champ ftom Center Grove

Ironically, a strong argument could be made that Illinois' one 4x undefeated champ, Josh Alber, would not have been a 4xer, much less undefeated, in Indiana. The unbiased truth is that every undefeated wrestler throughout history, no matter the era or state, needed some luck and timing to go even one season undefeated. Alber isn't the greatest Illinois wrestler of all time, but the stars were aligned for him.

I think Lee would beat Yates.

It's a bummer in my book. Should be a good one, though

Josh Alber went 4 yrs undefeated in Ill recently. At this point, he's a decent D1 wrestler early in his collegiate career ..but he's not half the wrestler Red is, and only one of those provincial, biased matmen posters would ever say differently. You have to take everything Illinois posters say with a grain of salt. They have some fairly big blind spots.
I bet Kentucky wrestling fans feel similarly about us, to be honest

Pretty small crop of qualifiers this year, and Petrov and Harvey graduate. On a separate note, I always loved his scrap, but I think I underestimated how good Zack Davis is. He's been nails this year

I am aware that some people take issue with Red Sr, but only a fool or someone not paying attention would criticize his results as a coach. His kids over achieve every year, with very few exceptions, and he is just as emotional and impassioned when coaching wrestlers who don't happen to be his son. There is more than one way to skin a cat, and Red Sr's methodology has worked very well for his kids. Chris Lytle chooses to work with him, as do numerous red cobra kids. I get that he's "new school" but I don't get all the venom thrown at both Reds.

It's weird to me that people are focused on things that took place after the match, considering what we were just treated to. We have a lot of spoiled fans in this state.
As far as what constitutes classlessness, I've never seen Red do anything dirty. Ive seen him take on challenges that few from Indiana have equaled or excelled. I don't see or hear anything from Red that I haven't seen or heard before. If emd fans or fans from any other school hate such 'classlessness', all you have to do is beat him to shut him up.

I haven't heard a peep about backflips, imaginary championship belt mimicking, flexing biceps, angrily slamming down ankle bands in a loss...not a peep. It's hard to explain why people would be so selective about demonstrative acts after matches under the lights. Perhaps someone from the outraged group could explain this to me
