  1. Still believe it will end up being Mendez when he is done. He is building a Very strong resume and is really just getting started.
  2. Can't wait for it to get going. Very exciting seeing all of the Indiana representation.
  3. Mendez looked REALLY good. Allred and Davidson looked good also. Agreed that Rooks just doesn't quit.
  4. When gym's were packed and entire schools got excited!!!
  5. I was just thinking about this a lot this week. Very good friends of a family with one of the best young wrestlers in the state. They are going to ISWA this weekend, Iowa for team Indiana at the end of the month, and Virginia Beach in May. That is just a VERY SMALL sampling of where there going. Add into that all of the hotels, meals, club fees, new shoes, singlet's, new club paraphernalia all of the time it adds up to thousands of $$$$. They are very blessed and can afford it, but what do the people that don't have these benefits do. This to me is a much bigger issue than class wrestling.
  6. Unfortunately, we may need them at all events. Not an advocate of gun control, but it pays to be alert at all events anymore. Kansas City celebration should have just been a good time.
  7. Cody is doing a great job bringing back the Delta tradition. I think we're just seeing the start of something special.
  8. Great topic. I understand weight management has always been a part of the sport. I did it, my son did it in high school. Where I have a problem is when we have youth/club coaches telling 2nd - 5th graders that they need to be managing, or even worse, cutting weight while their still developing.
  9. Congrats to all of these young men and ladies. This list doesn't get near the respect it deserves. Here is our future.
  10. Don't count out what's going on at Delta. Also, some other pretty good wrestlers coming out of that SS.
  11. Here is a quote from last Saturday's South Bend morning news. Story on Vinnie Freeman, Marcus Freeman's son. "My dad always tells me that the best athletes he has coached were wrestlers."
  12. A oldie. Seven days without wrestling....... makes one WEAK
  13. As far as quarterbacks go. I'm going back a lot of years, but Brad Traviola quarterbacked a state runner-up and won a state wrestling title in the same year. It can be done
  14. Try being from the 80's. I still think it was just 10 - 15 yrs. ago
  15. I live in Goshen. Would love to meet someone as passionate about wrestling as me.
  16. 125 #1 Spencer Lee 133 #13 Jesse Mendez *WILD CARD* 141 #6 Beau Bartlett 149 #1 Yianni Diakomihalis 157 #3 Peyton Robb 165 #5 Quincy Monday 174 #10 Rocky Jordan 184 #12 Abe Assad 197 #9 Max Dean 285 #3 Greg Kerklivet
  17. I just read where he is now ranked 15 in one national poll. Just ahead of Frazier at 16.
  18. Same. Sent my kid all the way through the Catholic school system and paid full price. Worked a part time job to make the extra $. I only wish the recruiting was as good as they say.
  19. Don't people understand that the NBA all-star weekend is happening in Indianapolis. It won't matter if you could find a venue there, it wouldn't make sense because of hotels, dining, parking, etc.
  20. I'm lucky I get my All Access every year. This sounds horrible.
