Oh my goodness, could we cry some more..... Holy smokes......
I do the EVANSVILLE Semi-State rankings, not the jasper Semi-State rankings
1 - Lack of hotels in Jasper vs Eville
2 - They only allowed fans after @tskin and I opened up the flood gates with our attacks
3 - Gerst Haus is better than any German establishment in Jasper
4 - Franklin Ave
5 - Wrestling is a secondary experience for the casual fan or the parents.... Evansville is popping..... Jasper is.......Jasper
This place.....semi state?!?!?!
Or this place
Brewer hide those mints better, Coop wipe up your tears, We going to the CRESCENT CITY, EVANSVILLE BBBBABBBBBYYYYYYY

Alias got a reaction from The Zebra in Evansville 160
The Ford center is a far larger and better venue for spectators than anything else around. It's also great to have this large tournament right in Evansville, as indy area schools get to stay relatively close to home for state. I hope the IHSAA finds a way to keep it at the Ford center for as long as it is such a fine venue.

Alias reacted to hook and half in Article: 2021 Jasper Semi-State Preview
Sorry Trips, but I have to fact-check you on this one! Heavyweight Bill Trainer was Mater Dei's first state champion. The 190-pounder accomplished the feat in 1953.
Bill's sister, Sister Joanna Trainer, is a retired nun living in Ferdinand, Indiana. Sister Joanna prays for ol' Hook and Half on a regular basis and send him messages of encouragement. Tip of the hat to Sister J and the Trainer clan.
They are good people!

I believe North Posey won’t be at the classic this year.

Alias reacted to Y2CJ41 in Mat side weigh ins
I am more concerned with logistics of doing it at a tournament or multi-dual event. If you are eating a regular diet your weight will fluctuate a great deal during the day mainly depending upon how much you drink.Making weight multiple times in one day seems a little over the top and redundant.

Alias got a reaction from Sig40 in Brownsburg/Mater Dei go for Grappler Gold - Dec 15
I never said he didn't count. He had a great day of wrestling and made Indiana wrestling fans proud. He also showcased just how tough the bottom part of that MD lineup is to crack. The kid is a hammer and makes his teammates better on a daily basis.

great showing by the Indiana kids. After two rounds, MD leads the tournament while B-burg is second.

Alias reacted to maligned in 2016-17 IHSWCA TEAM STATE DUALS
This means we're at 307 unless someone is entered at sectional that is not listed on the IHSAA sectional lists online (which were confirmed to me as totally up to date by the IHSAA as of Monday). 310 schools on the list minus Arlington, Shortridge and Indiana Blind. Last year, we had another 2 or 3 that dropped below 3 on the day of the tournament as well.

Alias reacted to hook and half in Crown Point vs Merrillville
I talked to some of the Penn people last Saturday; they completely agree with you. As a matter of fact, they went so far as to say the score should have been 39-24 with Portage on top.
Given that Perry beat Penn on criteria, I have Portage defeating Perry, 39-25. Mater Dei beat Perry by four, so Portage would have beaten Mater Dei, 39-29.
My strong recommendation to the IHSWCA is that they rename the tournament: "The Fake and Worthless Team State 3A Duals Championship Won By Some Pathetic Non-Region Team In Order To Prop Up Their Pathetic Egos, Because Had a Region Team Been There, We All Know That The Region Team Would Have Dominated The Pathetic Non-Region Teams, Because Region Teams Always Dominate The Pathetic Non-Region Teams....Like All The Time"
Trophy engraving costs will increase substantially, but the flavor and significance of the tournament will be more accurately represented.

Alias got a reaction from markio in Team State Talk and Predictions
I don't believe that red has the need to prove anything to anyone. He's a two time state champ and can likely finish his high school career without a blemish. Watching him this year, I think he truly looks like the beast he's been training to be for his entire life. I think if there is anyone to prove anything to its himself. Like I said, to be the best you have to beat the best. I think that years from now, he's going to regret not wrestling lee because he could have solidified his career with a win over another kid that everyone believes will be regarded as one of the best in the history of the state. No doubt both of them are elite and may be 1a and 1b in a pound for pound ranking. Maybe we'll be able to see it next year.
