I noticed Veasy wrestled a minute and 20 seconds total this past weekend.  Impressive for any freshman, let alone at heavier weight.

2012 was pretty good, they had Jared Brooks, Paul Petrov, Kyle Ayersman, Jared Mckinley, Devon Jackson, Jason Tsirtsis, Brian Harvey, Sean Mappes, Tanner Lynde, Tyler Kral, Abraham Hall.

2016 was pretty crazy. Drew Hildebrandt, Chad Red, Jacob Covaciu, Drew Hughes, Blake Rypel, and Shawn Streck

I come to this conclusion that you are not a “wrestlewatcher”... because there was some of the best freshman and sophomores in the state there.
 
Take a look in trackwresting... most of the top few guys are very good wrestlers. But .. checking out track wrestling will give you an idea of who is who. 

Buying the event and watching the matches is what it takes to fully grasp a kids talent... I'll just tell you this, you don't win or place high in this tournament if you're not a stud... You'll know plenty of these guys come next year when the rankings come out and at the season starts.

He's got to finish up on the feet and change off to his double.. Eierman loves baiting ppl into taking that leg and trying to crack him down and get in funky scrambles on the mat.. With Eierman and Yianni you'll never finish singles down on the mat to have lift and get to your double up on the feet imho.

Red got a take down in the first on a double leg. But then he tried three inside singles. First time Eierman used it to try and tie up a cradle, stalemate. Second time Eierman gets the cradle and almost to pin before Red is able to wiggle out, 4 points for Eierman. Third time Eierman works for the cradle and gets behind instead, 2 more for Eierman. 
 
I stick with my original statement. If you can get Red to avoid attempting the inside single against the guy who invites the inside single so he can cradle you up, then that would go a long way toward Red pulling the upset. If he keeps shooting that inside single on Eierman I just don't see how he can win.

Red took Eirman down in the first meeting. Red shows up in March for sure.

25-1 ticket rounder Gavyn whitehead went 1-2 and didn't even place..120 was really tough..I have a feeling we'll see a ton of these kids highly ranked next year and tons of them at SS/state finals.. There's no reason a kid shouldn't wrestle in this tournament unless they're not permitted aka placed at IHSAA state..imho they should still let them placers compete, it will only make everybody better in the end.. I'm glad my guys were tested and we were able to place 3of the 4 we had there.
