  1. Wrong Diaz. Also, while the score ended up lopsided, it was 2-0 Diaz halfway through the match.
  2. Agreed! Hope to see a raucous crowd and guys gettin' after it. The fact that this meet is here in Indiana is a testament to the entire wrestling community. Joe, you deserve to feel proud for being the catalyst behind this great event. Go TEAM INDIANA!!
  3. Wow, Rumph got hosed. He was the superior wrestler today. Definitely questionable on the back bow, seen far worse than that not get a call, and the referee wasn't on the right side to see if it was over the hip or toward the head anyway. Regardless, very few coaches would allow their guy to take a win that way.
  4. Wow. Clearly all RTC's are not created equal.
  5. Truly moving. Adds a little perspective to the things that are most important.
  6. Subjective...apples to oranges...depth vs. top heavy...on and on and on. All Semi-States are tough.
  7. Thought the same about Iowa wrestlers...and along came Darrion Caldwell.
  8. Is there a way to quickly determine the total numbers of all sectional entries? Overall and by weight? (Aside from tabulating sectional by sectional on Track?
  9. I'm not getting into an argument with you, but no I didn't miss your point. I just don't think it matters whether the implication is about sectional misalignment or not.
  10. I just had a flashback to a famous poster, last season maybe?, who struggled with punctuation. I get what you're saying, but we're not talking about the NFL or the NBA here. I just find it typical of society today, that there is absolutely no filter...ever. If my kid was talking to a reporter after winning the sectional, and he said "Yeah, I breezed through the sectional today, my opponents were really bad, maybe some of the worst guys in the state," I'd be embarrassed.
  11. That's cool Phil. "Look how crappy the kids are in this sectional"..maybe that would be a better lead for which sectional is the worst. It's not a matter of taking things serious, it's just a matter of tact. Look it up.
  12. What purpose does it serve to be picking the "worst" sectional?
  13. Assuming there are no additional forfeits, there are a total of 157 matches...86 championship matches and 71 consolation matches. 78.5 matches per mat. I'm gonna say it's over at 5:30pm.
  14. I would say that NHSCA, Flonationals, UWW, etc. are just as important, if not more, as talent evaluation tools for college coaches. However, I don't think our state tournament is a waste of time, as a piece of the recruiting process. I'd go as far to say that, in most knowledgeable wrestling circles, it's pretty highly regarded for its difficulty.
  15. It was a great match. I really thought Bradbury had him.
  16. Big props to Jose and the entire family! Well done!
  17. Got called for locked hands as time expired in 3OT. The match should have gone to the ultimate tiebreaker.
  18. Day 1 take on Brecksville: wrestling is wrestling...some weights are incredibly deep...overall I would imagine that top IN teams could fare well here year in and year out. Just seeing teams from good OH conferences is worth the investment. The weigh out was interesting but it makes sense. PS: hotbeds of wrestling do not = hotbeds of officiating...I would gladly take the IN Team State officials over what I've seen at Brecksville.
  19. leads me to wonder...wth are you trying to say WG? lineups are lineups, everyone deals, and everyone chooses what they're all in for. I find no fault here.
