  1. 3 & 4 keep causing me fits.
  2. Heck, I want to see him do it this year at the All-Star Classic.
  3. Now that's the same crazy logic the NFL players used which ended up costing me my 4th consecutive fantasy football league title.
  4. Match score was wrong causing the match to change course. Schute's coach should have complained and got the following sequence whistled as "bad time". Schute was denied his true place of glory, due to this error. Swain can't hold his mud.

    Olympics

It has to be a sport that involve ice or snow, so no unless they do create snow wrestling.

    Olympics

Well it is the Winter Olympics. They are hurt to find additional sports/categories to add to it so they can fill two weeks and get more viewers.
  7. I took a couple 360 cam images of the arena during warmups. Haven’t had a chance to load them yet, but if one turned out decent I’ll link it here.
  8. Its hard to move a mountain, even for an Olympic Champ.
  9. I’m actually against seeding after sectionals. The wrestler earns the seperetion position he gets as he advance through the tournament. What I don’t like is a random draw deciding someone can’t get the opportunity to advance despite having the ability to wrestle to a top 4 state qualifying spot? Several people couldn’t make the cut yesterday due to ability or just putting together a sub-par performance. But some wrestlers were put out just because they lost a one score match to a possible state finalist who was randomly placed in their quarter of the bracket. I’m be very much in favor of wrestle-backs at the ticket round since that is when the random draw has the biggest effect on who gets to the top 4. Give the wrestlers a chance to show which 4 preformed the best on that day and are deserving their state position. Seeding won’t show who preformed the best and would take away what some wrestlers earned the previous week. Sure it’s a little longer day to have wrestlebacks but I think the coaches and wrestlers would appreciate having those who wrestled the best that day being able to prove they have earned their placement on the mat. Rather than full or quarter-final wrestle backs I’d even accept only letting those who lost to the finalist during the ticketround being pulled back in to face the losers of the semi-finals for a shot at the 3/4 match. Not a perfect wrestle-back solution, but it solve most issues with the random draw deciding who can advance to state. That’s just 2 extra matches per weight on 4 mats. That wouldn’t add a lot to the tournament time compared to the standard quarter-final wrestle-backs. I’m not looking for the top ranked kids to advance, the top seeds, or even the top regional placers, but I would like to see everyone have their best chance at letting their performance prove they should be able to advance and what state position that puts them in.
  10. South had to stay on JV last year due to transferring from another school district. He’s a hard nose kid that has made the most of this varsity season and had made East an even tougher team. He is set on standing on the top of the podium next week like some of his teammates. He had the skills necesssry to place very high, so look for the name next week too.
  11. Turk isn’t backing down. Going to have to grind this one out.
  12. In just their 5th year of being a program Lee Miracle coached Campbellsville Women’s program to a WCWC National Title. Very impressive what Lee has been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. In just a short time Lee has managed to out recruit and out develop several more established women’s programs like King’s College and Simon Frazier. Amazing job and I’m sure Campbellsville has realized they got quite a deal when they had Lee start the program. Kayla Miracle also tops off her senior year by winning her 4th individual national championship. She was in the last match of the finals and needed to win for Campbellsville to clinch the title. She closed it out with a pin. Great college career for very talented young lady. Now on to getting that World Title. You two have both represented Indiana Wrestling well and it is nice to see all the hard work pay off.
  13. Brownsburg wins by what could really be a one match difference. Great showing by both teams.
  14. I bet most of them do care about the scores because it help them compare their results with other team in their area, of their size, and in their sectional. Now they may not worry to much about making it to Team State, but I best most team like to see where their scores puts them against their competition.
  15. Possibly, but not if that team does feel a Team State bid is within reach and/or don't believe Team State is a useful event. I'm sure all coaches are pushing to increase numbers, but I'm not sure an off chance of getting invited to Team State will increase their effort more. If it was a much larger field maybe, but I think most coaches see Team State as nice but still a far off thing right now especially if they have some number issues. I do think going to Team State and the school making a big deal of it is helping increase numbers further at some schools. But those are already schools who have the numbers to make Team State to begin with.
  16. I feel like 115 is just to high as a starting weight. Maybe 108. I could even see 110, although some will be at a disadvantage for a few years. But not starting at 115. There are several very good light weights that wont make 115 until at least their junior year. I'd hate to see some talented wrestlers question if they should be in the sport because they are giving up a good percentage of their body weight for multiple years.
  17. I think they like the extra money it generates during their part of the season.
  18. Ideally, we should just find a way to shift the class cut off upward, to account for those team but not let their addition to the list dictate the split between each class. The problem with excluding teams with 5 or 6 wrestlers from being counted towards next years event is that they may actually have 7 or more wrestlers the next year, due to returning from injury, new freshman, or someone else joining the team. If we want to say we are as inclusive as possible we have to at least think about including the teams who could possibly field enough participants to win a dual their team state year. I get in most case those additions wont skyrocket them to a team state title, but if we are to be inclusive we should at least account for the possibility of that team adding a few more wrestlers. But were should that cut off reasonably be. In my view I'd say 5 of 6 would be a reasonable line to draw rather than the current number.
  19. Cross-County based on how competitions work would could run an individual competition and then invite all the top teams per class to a separate team event. Although the nature of their competition could almost have individual and team together too, but they would mean a more crowded field. I’m sure golf and gymnastics would be similar to CC. And tennis, which is the most similar to wrestling’s set up, already has a team event so they would just need to arrange it as a class competition. Swimming and Track would be harder to arrange as a separate individual and team competition.
  20. They would tell you to buy a ticket, so you can express your view in person.
  21. Found this which helped in answering my questions and maybe some questions others may have. https://cdn4.sportngin.com/attachments/document/0143/1778/Indiana_Frosh_Soph_State_2018.pdf
  22. What will be the Separation Criteria breakdown for winning or placing high in the Fresh/Soph state regional qualifier?
  23. 6 of Seymour 7 Semi-State qualifiers are Underclassman (non-seniors) We have another underclassman who was a previous SS qualifier but injured and unable to compete this season.
  24. It doesn't but the IHSAA is more worried about eliminating FF and getting butts in the seats more than advancing the next best kid. IF they were worried about the best tournament bracket possible they would use a proven result like the highest sectional placers eliminated in the quarterfinals as the alternate. Then in the event of a tie in placement the wrestlers from the regional winners sectional or the one that lost to the the highest regional placer would go.
