  1. Palmer definitely. Traviola was 3rd NCAA for Northwestern.
  2. I was just looking at the lineups for the teams. Should be really good wrestling. Excellent showing throughout the state. Getting excited already.
  3. Well said. Especially in the smaller schools. All sports have and need the kids that are there to stay active and part of the team.
  4. Agreed! Also, get them to the state finals. That will bring extra passion and incentive.
  5. That was awesome!! He is such a competitor.
  6. LOVE this recognition! These will be successful men!!
  7. Wish this had been around when for a while. I would LOVE to see this grow!
  8. Valid questions. Maybe unpopular, but necessary. If it was another sport being sanctioned, i.e. lacrosse, we would be asking the same questions. I love seeing girls wrestling gaining the traction it deserves, but also want to see it done correctly.
  9. Agreed. Not saying that the officials at the state finals are bad. We just need to see more variety. (i.e. younger)
  10. Henry Wilk - HOF wrestler, HOF coach, and HOF official
  11. Outstanding. Thank you for sharing. I got goosebumps remembering two weeks ago!!!!
  12. Absolutely one of the best posts in all of these "debates". I'm from the north and have always, and still do, consider Mater Dei to be the most consistent program decade after decade. With that in mind, what I witnessed on Friday and Saturday was without a doubt the best performance I have ever seen. I have been coming to these finals since I was a seventh grader watching Palmer win the state championship when it was held at Southport. No team performance has left me utterly amazed like what we just had the pleasure to witness.

  14. Agreed!! As they say, " Act like you've been there before!"
  15. One of the best posts I've seen. Stating facts without all the "Homer" feelings.
  16. Steve Stahl (Elkhart Memorial) and Ryan Konrath (Jimtown). Stahl finally beat him, I believe in the semi-finals, and went on to win state.
  17. Just grateful, thankful, any other adjectives for all access pass.
  18. I remember it well. You are right. Lake Central fans were the only ones in the crowded Merrillville gym not pulling for Miracle.
  19. What an incredible match to watch. I think my heart rate just jumped again remembering it.
  20. I noticed Veasy wrestled a minute and 20 seconds total this past weekend. Impressive for any freshman, let alone at heavier weight.
