HuskiePride reacted to greco165 in Most Indiana Triple Crowns?
That didn't really answer my question. Is drilling 9,500 single legs vs. 10,000 single legs a big difference compared to exposing some kids to new techniques that may benefit their style/ body type? I mean, if they don't like it, they don't have to use it, but they can't use it if it's not taught.

Fixed that for you, champ.
I support Greco, ISWA and triple crowns.

If turning out okay and earning runner ups is the goal then I agree you guys should continue to ignore Greco.

First Cascade kid to ever make the trip. Secures AA status and leaves with hardware. Very proud of this young man and his commitment to the grind!
I was wrong Cascade has had a few kids take the trip before but Logan is the first All-American for Cascade!

Greco done at the highest level may look that way to the casual observer of said style.

More kids would probably wrestle Greco if more coaches actually supported and promoted Greco. It’s pretty insane that I’ve heard high level coaches in Indiana say “Greco isn’t real wrestling”.

Let’s also keep in mind that Nick was the #2 seed that split matches the #1 seed in 2020 when the tournament got canceled. And I’m very confident that Nick and Cael would have made the adjustments to avenge the B1G championship loss to Pletcher.
If Covid had held off one more week, we could very well be talking about a 3x NCAA champion.

I agree with your sentiment, since you're putting a lot of stock in HS credentials we have to acknowledge Lee was 2x National FS champ and runner up during HS and placed 3rd at 16U as an 8th grader and 127 Fila Runner up.. Also let's not forget he wrestled Micic as freshman in semis who was #1 kid in the country only to tech Future Natty Champ/runner up Enrique Early for 3rd, won it as sophmore with all Bonus point wins all through his title run including 2 pins, major, and blowout win in the finals of state with 9 points being his closest match all year..
Then as you're fully aware was part of the biggest State finals match in state history and one the biggest at the time, in the country which is still talked about, where he was winning until the #1 p4p wrestler in the country stormed bk to defeat him.. Then didn't even wrestle senior HS season..I can't fault him or hold it against him that he knew he wasn't going to be challenged his senior season and made what turned out to be the right choice in getting his College career in gear moving to PA..
And to your point about 5x AA, Penn State and the the NCAAs have declared him 5x AA under the circumstances... His overall career is neck and neck with Angels rightas we speak, yes Angel won more state titles, and a natty but the last 2 years of Lee's career, he's had arguably the best overall success ever seen by any of our Indiana guys.. We need wait another 5 years and three revisit this subject and we'll have a lot more clear answer or Unanimous agreement on who is the modern G.O.A.T..Howe,Lee,Reece and Angel are def up there..
Also can't forget We still have to see what Allred ends up doing as well.. He's a very credentialed Guy as well that is coming along nicely under Manning Nebraska, going 7-0 with 6 pins and a tech this redshirt season.. And that includes pinning Bastida of Iowa State who beat Iowa's 97 runner up Warner, All Americans Norfleet,Bulsak, Woodley,Elam twice, and pinned Hoffman for 5th place at the NCAAs also beatb jr FS world Champ and highly regarded Braxton Amos Bastida ..Bastida is an accomplished world class FS wrestler as well.. This speaks volumes about the development of Silas and I know his father is smiling down proud.

None of those guys you named won 2 straight NCAA Titles and Nick only wrestled 3 years in HS.. He also placed 3rd at the trials beating current 3x defending NCAA champ,US national champ world team member and 2x age division world Champ , Pan am champ, Yianni 16-8, Handled 3x Big ten/NCAA Champ, Cadet world Champ and world cup champ, Retherford 10-4 in the same day.. He's also got a while left to add to his accolades..HS state titles def hold weight but He's won more NCAA Titles than everybody you listed,5xAA, And if we look at his Skillset he's Just as good as any of those guys if not better..Howe IMHO has the best overall career up to this point but I think Lee is just as good as will surpass him.

Chad was a success story in my opinion. Like all have previously mentioned, college wrestling is hard and the Big Ten is even harder. As a five year starter for Nebraska, Chad was a 3-time NCAA All-American and named an NWCA All-American in 2020. With the wealth of knowledge he gained over time in the sport, the people he got to work with, and the success he achieved in his collegiate career, that's something many people strive for. Alex Tsirtsis, like Chad, was an undefeated four-time state champion who went on to wrestle in the Big Ten for Iowa and was only an All-American once, placing seventh. So, for Chad to make the podium three times in his career despite his struggles, shows how built he was for the grind of the Big Ten.

As most of us on here know Indiana wrestling is on the rise... but this is really cool. Maybe our best year as a state ever?!?!?
Naia--- Indiana tech finished 4th in the country with 2 national champs (coached by Indiana natives)
D3 --- Wabash is currently tied for 1st!! With guys in the finals
D2 --- Uindy currently in 6th with 2 in the finals. Still in the hunt for a team trophy. (Also coached by indiana natives)
Really neat to see our In-State teams have such success.

Could happen, but if the team race is on the line, that may not happen. My gut is that the more Nick Lee wrestles Eierman, the more comfortable he becomes. All we can do is watch and enjoy.

If you’re asking if I know who his partner will be, that’s a no.
If you’re asking if I will be his partner, that’s a remarkably more emphatic no as I fight back tears at the mere thought of taking that blast double.

I'm guessing he wants to go heavyweight and knows the only path to a heavyweight title is through Fort Wayne.
