In my head, this is exactly how I see it. Some rematches would be taking place, but also picking teams where the matches would be interesting and something we haven’t seen too much this season.
OPENER
Paul Clark vs. James Hartleroad (Part II)
YOUTH SHOWCASE
Case Bell vs. ??? (Not too familiar with MS talent right now)
GIRLS’ SHOWCASE
Julianna Ocampo vs. Heather Crull
DUAL: #TheCounty vs. Indiana
However they want to pick teams…
MAIN EVENT — CATCHWEIGHT 135
Jake Hockaday vs. Kyrel Leavell

This is a nasty level of hating. Kyrel pinned and teched his way through John Hurrle, pinned his way through Marion County, pinned and teched his way to the Al Smith finals, got two falls in the matches Warren wrestled at Team State, pinned his way through sectionals, pinned and teched his way through regionals, pinned his way through semi-state, and teched his opening round at State, won his semis 9-3, and pinned the #1 in the finals… DOMINANT without a doubt.

Sheesh. Props to him for wrestling through that.

Had it not been for the one loss he suffered at Al Smith to Shepherd, he’d be my pick for most dominant wrestler this season. Just absolutely insane strength on top and he wrestles with so much finesse. I’m happy he avenged that loss in top form, though. Congrats, Rello!

My guy @blueandgold is prolly intelligent Indianamat Poster of all time . He brings those facts and history to this site yearly. I know some posters can’t read . His Topic on this thread says Kyrel Leavell . Let’s about talk about 2x State Champ Senior that wrestled his last match for WC that shined this Saturday Night . He was Dominant ! Excellent wrestler. We’ll talk about other wrestlers his teammates accomplishments in another thread . Let’s give this Senior his due . PERIOD !

Anyway we can set this up? I remember in Spring/Summer 2016, Perry Meridian drove down to Columbus to wrestle a triple dual against Columbus East and another team just for fun, and I would love to see that happen again. This is the time to do all of the fantasy match-ups. Why not? Everyone is looking to have fun with the sport anyway.

Being humble is admirable. I like it both ways. Makes it fun and enjoyable. Kyrel keep dominating.

Kyrel has now twice avenged his only loss of his season with dominating state finals wins. Never finished his state runs lower than third in some pretty loaded weight classes. Stud way to end his high school career!

Y’all been hating on Kyrel all year. Y’all even going as far as taking away from a post about him and my opinion on his performance to mention what you think about Hockaday’s dominance. We not talking about that right now. So, based on everything I’ve seen posters on this site say about him, it seemed like hate to me even if you want to pass it off as a joke. “Yikes.”

Why wait on Flo, MatScouts, or any other form of wrestling media to give us shine when we can do our own thing here? We have a full calendar of USAW events that a lot of money will be spent on regardless. Let’s have some fun and make it happen.

Kyrell killed it, an amazing career hopefully he’s a couple time AA’s for the Citadel. It will be weird to see him in the Baby blue

I don't like mentioning my son on message boards but he's done with HS wrestling. I'll say this... Kyrel wrestled likely the best he ever has on Saturday. Tony put his best out there and it wans't good enough. Then Kyrel backed that up with a better performance in the finals. Congrats to Kyrel, had a great tourney! I hope he kills it at The Citadel.

Has a single wrestler ever had as significant an impact on the Indiana state tournament wrestling landscape as this young man did? His upset win Friday night made the seemingly impossible; possible. The shockwaves of that win changed the tournament landscape for the remainder of the weekend. Hats off to you big man! You opened the door for several things to happen!
BB and CG should consider making this young man an honorary member of your roster this year…at the very least, cut off a small piece of each of your team trophies and mail them to Dekalb HS.
