Brewer over Walker any day, he straight handled his partner last year and beat Donahue who is now a national prep champion... Kinda clueless on why anyone would say walker.

Slivka was hurt with a broken rib last year and still beat Donnell Washington who was nationally ranked, considered the best in the state at the time, and lets not forget he got 6th in the midlands this year at 174, there is not another Slivka than A game Slivka while under the lights.

My Guess is the 2x State Champ would show up, DUH. This one is not even close. Even If the “other Slivka” shows up, (whoever the hell that is), still not close.

Slivka is one of the best big match wrestlers in Indiana history. He had wins over multiple top ranked high schoolers last year. And has beaten more of those guys this year. He just gets the job done. Slivka is a hammer on top and underrated on his feet. I’m unaware of any national ranked kids that Dickens has beat. Slivka has beaten a handful. With that said, that’s the reason that Slivka gets my nod. I’m using logic and facts.

EMD fans are pumped for their guy. As they should be. Again, silly debate but a fun one. Obviously the Dickens win is fresh and 90 percent of EMD fans will give Dickens the nod. It is what it is.

With all of that said, most posters on here have never won a title and will never have family member win a title. They will never know the joy or help put the work in to win a title. So.. when you get on here and say a KID will smoke another KID, it is kinda insulting to a family that actually put in the work, took the kid to privates, took the kid to academy, took the kid all over the USA, the money that was spent, the sleep that was missed, the days of work missed, the tudors that were payed for, getting up at 5:00am to help the kid work out and meal prep, the “vacation” time that was spent in the middle of Iowa. So before you go off running your mouth behind your anonymous screen name, be considerate of what people went through and know that they are prideful. Make your logical picks or homer picks, but you need to be respectful of other people’s sacrifices. Calm down cowboys.

    Just my two cents.

Slivka beat #2 in the nation and Penn State commit Trey Kibe at Disney Duals, and of course beat a seemingly unbeatable DJ Washington at state. Dickens is good, but I would choose Slivka to win that match without even thinking twice.

Have to agree with @TeamGarcia this is a silly debate. Kids change so much year to year there’s no telling who would win. Like Joe vs Carson. They wrestle one time a couple years back. But if you look at both of them today they both have changed sooo much, no telling what would happen. Many others have wrestled also. Just know that these kids all should be proud and be grateful that their names will forever be in the record books and a part of these debates for years on end.

I do know this.... there is bigger things in store for all these guys. I have been told by multiple champs.. “have no clue why I got so worked up over one tourney, it really is not a big deal.” Every college tourney you go too has multiple state champs in each bracket. Just about every kid at the D1 level is a state champ.

These kids will continue to grow. This year Carson was in the same bracket as the last two number one kids that came out of high school in his class (who’s number one champs). He took the number one high schooler from two years ago to OT and lost and won the other tourney that last years number one was in. He is closing the gap between himself and the perceived best kids that have came out. Some of this years champs will do the same. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Again, silly debate, but a honor to continue to be acknowledged.

I think Noehre wins it.. He ws in control vs Rodgers earlier this season before that sick funk roll Rodgers hit... going to be another war I'm sure.

    1. Copper Noehre - I predict for him to get the win on Saturday. I have been impressed by him all season and I can see him coming out and beating Elliot Rodgers in a close match in the semifinals, and eventually edging out Luke Davis in the finals.
    2. Luke Davis - have been very impressed by this young man’s wrestling throughout the season including a very significant win vs Hollendoner at the al Smith, look for him to have a competitive showing on Saturday and beating some tough competition.
    3. Elliot Rodgers- Elliot was dealt a tough hand having to wrestle Cooper Noehre in the semi finals. I can potentially see Elliot being defeated in the semi finals in a close match.
    4. Dante Akins- he will certainly have to do some tough wrestling, but I think that he is certainly capable of beating Andrew Roth out of Lawrenceburg as I predict him to do. He will have to do some tough wrestling as I have seen him do all year.

Good Luck to all wrestlers on Saturday and don’t take anything I said to serious- these are merely predictions after all.

Lots of cry-cry stuff for a state that is still single class.  Either you beat who is in front of you or not.

Wow you guys made sure Cathedral gets a pass.   Mater Dei is a 1 and BB is 2.  You guys know this is how is should be.  Not sure how it always works out for Cathedral.  At the state tourney, team state.  Couldn't stop it last year and the same will happen this year.  They will finish 2nd when actually they should be 3rd but it doesn't matter they aren't winning no matter where you put them.  It's sad that you guys do this crap.

Cathedral has earned the top spot. It’s very close between the top 4 teams so saying they get a pass is comical. Cathedral hasn’t been challenged nor has EMD. I would have seeded CHS 1 and EMD 2 same as they seeded it. Good work Indianamat crew!

I suppose people who win local tournaments just throw their medals in the trash. If winning a state tournament with 100+ schools involved is being "handed a medal", how lame is it to win a mid-season or conference tournament with only 8 teams involved?

In my opinion (and very clearly/vocally the opinion of the announcers on TrackCast) Noehre had Rodgers pinned midway through the 2nd period.
I think the official missed that call
On the flip side, I would say Rodgers had the toughest path to the championship among anyone in the tournament so a big congratulations to him!  He had a brutal first round draw of Nathan Conley from Avon, then Fort Wayne semistate champion Ethan Hicks.  Then Merrillville semistate champion Brock Ellis and finally the New Castle semistate champion Noehre

I know lets complain about something that we have no control over that will solve everything! When you get put on your back you leave it into the refs hands. Don't let someone else dictate your success.
