ENTER DOOR 3 and then turn left and keep walking through the double doors. Once past the double doors go down the little stairs and turn right and you'll see the wrestling room. We will go from 6-7:30. Monday only for the first two weeks!!!

DHEATHMMAWC260 reacted to Y2CJ41 in Top 10 Wrestling Events in Indiana
There are probably more college coaches at IHPO than our state finals. There are many reasons for it, timing, number of competitors, multitude of states represented, etc, but we routinely have 15-20 different colleges represented at the event.

I'd move IHPO up above Free/Greco state

DHEATHMMAWC260 reacted to ENoblewrestling in Top 10 Wrestling Events in Indiana
In terms of prestige, talent, the event, what would you consider the top 10 events in Indiana Wrestling? It was the ISWA Folkstyle State finals that got me thinking about this. So anyhow here is my list with about 5 minutes of thought put into it.
1. IHSAA State Finals
2. IHSAA Semi-State
3. IHSWCA Team State
4. ISWA Folkstyle State
5. Al Smith
6. ISWA Freestyle/Greco State
7. IHPO
8. Mater Dei Holiday Classic
9. Middle School State
10. Connersville Spartan Classic- We go there so this maybe a bit of a homer pick!

DHEATHMMAWC260 reacted to CFleshman in State tournament class statistics to not necessarily incite class wrestling discussion
It would be interesting to know how many schools in general have lay coaches. Not many kids are going the education route for their future. Let alone giving back to the sport bye coaching. Look at all the former studs they all go to schools that are already successful. So that leaves us old guys to try and manage our own family plus work outside of the school to keep a school from dropping a struggling program with 10-15 kids on a good year.

DHEATHMMAWC260 reacted to Almost a winner in 160 state finals...best potential match of entire finals
Lots of talk about other weight classes...not much about 160. I am betting this to be the match of the night...Levitz vs. Dickens. Only common opponent was Rodgers. Both have beat him. Levitz and Dickens haven't been "tested" yet. Levitz has a lot to prove that small school wrestlers can come out on top, as well as being Prairie Heights first individual state champ. Dickens has been #1 all year but not tested by anyone from Indiana other than Purdy. I am.pulling for Levitz to win it all! Go Panther Pride Wrestling!

DHEATHMMAWC260 reacted to AC Computer in Regional Advancement Percentage
Heard on the local news (I think) that FW had champions from 14 different schools. No one got a second champ. Don't know if I've ever seen that before.

Extremely accurate if you ask me.

Except 113. I don't see Brooks getting beat by Sprague. Good luck to both competitors but just my opinion

He didn't get knocked out. He basically passed out. Clearly visible watching video. He was struggling to walk back for a restart before it happened.

DHEATHMMAWC260 reacted to Cosgrove in Referees in the tournament
I think you got to put in something like 8 to 10 years in to ref semi state. Doesnt matter if you have wrestled your whole life either. Should really change those rules honestly.
-
DHEATHMMAWC260 reacted to Jim calhoun in Referees in the tournament
Can someone please explain the process of what and when referees work at semi state and state. This rotating and sitting out to me makes no sense. I think of someone like Mike Faulkner in Northern Indiana who is hands down one of the best and I think most agree yet if I see it right can’t go back for a few years. Why not allow the coaches voices in different sections of the state have a little more say and input of the refs they see often and have the ability in voting in the officials above the rotating schedule? You can even have and I’ve seen them....new first second or third year officials I would vote for. Tenure should not be rewarded as much as excellence. I think we’re struggling getting officials cause the system is watered down.

DHEATHMMAWC260 reacted to nkraus in Carroll regional predictions

106 Ford, Crowder, Brady, Cornewell
113 Sloffer, Weimer, Lewis, Herman
120 Ester, Veotch, Teusch, Heath
126 Humphrey, Kuhl, Shearer, Reister
132 Forrester, Hoy, Shelton, Heath
138 Burns, Tippman, Sotero, Chacon

182 Walden, Schwehn, Knight, Saylor
195 Harris, VanWagner, Lepper, Mills

DHEATHMMAWC260 reacted to DrunkJoeNamath in Carroll vs the SAC
couple things....
Rankings don’t mean 💩!
120 is a toss up, Carroll’s Ehle is tough.. Maybe you aren’t smart enough to realize this? He’s a 2 time Michigan state qualifier, who Ester had the opportunity to wrestle this past week, BUT DIDNT EVEN WEIGH IN FOR THE DUAL..
138 - Who has Sotero even beaten this season? Quick answer - No one.. Carroll’s Fitch is a grinder, just like his uncle Jon! Didn’t he beat Sotero in the offseason?
152 - At minimum a tossup... Saylor has a much better resume and wrestled Hollis to a tough 3-1 loss... Hilger was tech called by Hollis. 🤔
182 - Schwehn has beaten best guys SAC has to offer. (Not exactly a mystery)
220 - Bills only loss was an injury default to the snider kid in the first 30 seconds.... Also, pinned the wrestler who is likely to be SAC’s #1 seed...
You would need every Fort Wayne team to just have a CLOSE dual meet with Carroll! 😂
