Right, and somewhere there is someone with a piece of paper with some A’s B’s C’s and D’s lined up in a unique order. Would that person like to share with the class?

You have to figure out which other sectional feeds in to your same regional.

    Sectionals are here:  https://ihsaa.org/Sports/Boys/Wrestling/2019-20/State-Tournament#40232448-sectionals

    Regionals are here:  https://ihsaa.org/Sports/Boys/Wrestling/2019-20/State-Tournament#40232449-regionals

Then go to trackwrestling to see how the other sectional turned out per weight class you are interested in.   THeir number 1 takes on your number 4, Their number 2 takes on your number 3, etc...

Or you can wait until Tuesday.

Kid is just unreal. Saw him this weekend and was so impressed by how advanced his wrestling is for a sophomore. He was outstanding as a freshman and has managed to go up several more notches. The way he puts several attacks together and goes from one to the other and gets back points... You stress kids to drill that and he's the perfect example why. He's phenomenal. Was also really impressed with his win over Freeman. That was a statement.

I just want to say thank you to IndianaMat for providing us with great content over this last decade and making this website highly accessible for those either getting into wrestling or those who have been around it for years. We don’t know how good we have it, guys. The only thing we have to pay for every year is the preseason magazine. Other states have followed a new custom of charging fans for things such as rankings, articles, etc. and IndianaMat has allowed us to be on here and explore with no charge. Thanks guys for all you do for Indiana wrestling. I love this sport so much.

I want to welcome everyone to the Classic, it is my favorite time of the year. I hope everyone understands that I have tried for all 6 years i have coached for Connersville to have this on Track and seeded. I have been given every excuse as to why we can not use track in the Bowl. I even went as far as to prove it is possible to use the system and still nothing. I have not stopped fighting to get it accomplished. I hope every coach that come down will voice that they want track during the coaches meeting. To all that will participate good luck, and to those that will come to watch enjoy a great two days of wrestling.

I'm the head coach at Fishers High School. All three teams (Fishers, Southport, and Franklin Central) are very close in dual meet strength. I'm not debating who is more worthy of a ranking. I just wanted to get on here and point out that at the New Castle Invite, Fishers was not at full strength. We had four starters out (two of which were Semi State Qualifiers last year). One of our backups did very well, but the other three did not fare so well that day. So, the New Castle invite was not a good gauge, in my opinion. Something to take into consideration. I think it's great that all three teams are getting some exposure. Good luck to all during the second half of the season. Thanks for reading.

H!. I wish we could, but we have county, and the coach isn't particular inclined to my suggestions

I know a number of the wrestlers on Fisher, they're good kids. I didn't and don't want my post to be misconstrued as maligning their accomplishments. I definitely root for your 106 through 126 whenever I can (except, of course, against our kids). Hey, they're all CIA alums.

pritchem reacted to MattM in Question about rankings??
Being ranked in general is a nice recognition of your hard work and ability.  in recent years some of these Freshman have put together a very impressive national resume over the last couple years against cadet age group competition.  So I can see some ranking coordinator may consider plugging a few in, especially at the lower weights.  Not every talented wrestlers will have their name out there enough to get that recognition later in the the year, let along at this point of the season.  Our ranking guys do a great job and are pretty accurate with their picks by the last rankings, but even they will point out how a couple unranked guys (mostly due to lack of info on them) who qualified for state slipped by them.

However, getting too caught up in where you are rank isn't necessary, especially in the first month of competition.  That ranking maybe a curse to some if they feel if they value it too much.  Heck I've seen kids get so nervous about trying to keep a ranking they finally earned that they drop matches they probably shouldn't have by being too conservative or failing on a mid-match desperation move after being down a couple points early.  I've also seen ranked wrestlers let their foot off the gas and drop a match because they began to assume that ranking meant they have already proven they will make it to state.

The rankings will all "come out in the wash" as the season progresses and more results start come in. If anything use your lower or non-ranking as motivation to keep improving your craft so you can prove your ability doesn't match your ranking when that time comes.  When a wrestlers season ends, and they looked back at how they did, believe me they they won't be reflecting on where they were ranked during the course of that year.

pritchem reacted to Y2CJ41 in Question about rankings??
Because a lot of times these kids have proven results nationally or in state where they have beaten some of the top returners. On top of that we have the greatest minds in the sport doing our rankings.

I thought Brownsburg was going to get destroyed by a list of a dozen schools beginning last year?  Something about how something of ours were going to get eaten.  We weren't interested by the way.
Throw out your backhand compliments.  We are often criticized.  It has worked out okay for us.  When contenders are mentioned, we seem to always be in the conversation....unlike someone else, we didn't make a guarantee of winning or list all the schools that were going to beat another school.  We just show up and do work.
...and to bring up feeder schools?!?!?!!?!? ? HAHAHAHAHAHA....both of our middle schools are strong.  Our Elementary Dual team consistently competes at a high level.  Yes, we have strong feeders.
I know our coaching staff could never compete with that of Indy Schools, but yeah Smiley was an okay addition.  Ayersman guy did okay.  HWT coaches took a beginner to a state championship.  I have a had a tad success here and at Mishawaka, etc. etc.
Keep talking and we will keep working.

pritchem reacted to Y2CJ41 in Number of Dual Meets
Minimum single duals is 6, the max is basically 18.

60-2 The maximum number of season wrestling dual meets in which any team or student may participate, excluding the IHSAA Tournament Series, shall be Eighteen (18); however, a team or student may participate in additional season tournaments (an interschool wrestling Rule 60 - Wrestling 116 meet which involved Three (3) or more schools is a tournament) up to a maximum of Six (6), provided each tournament counts as Two (2) of the Eighteen (18) dual meets. A triangular meet (double dual) is counted as Two (2) dual meets towards a team’s Six (6) dual meet maximum. Each weigh-in for any tournament shall count as only One (1) weighin toward the minimum requirements for IHSAA Tournament Series qualification.

There is therule and I'm thinking the highlighted maximum is meant to be minimum.
