JMILL reacted to brickfor6 in Did anyone notice a few guys missing in the ihpo?
I am not mad at B.Lee OR meant any disrespect to him.
I probably should have said, This ACT test was very important to our 2 wrestlers that they were studying non stop all last week and the week before. Again, I probably should have clarified why these 2 guys were not there. 1 of them is #1 in their class and the other is top 15.
I respect joe a ton, and he knows that. Also, can't be mad at the kids for putting school work first.

JMILL reacted to Kyle Ayersman in Rest In Peace Tim Ayersman
As some of you may already know my father Tim Ayersman passed away Sunday afternoon. My father was the biggest supporter of me, Lake Central, Purdue, and now Brownsburg. He loved Indiana wrestling and everything that went with it. Vistation will be tomorrow (Wednesday the 13th) from 3-8 at Kish Funeral Home in Munster, Indiana. If everyone could send a few prayers towards my family we would greatly appreciate it.
He loved getting on Indianamat just to see what was going on after I graduated from high school.
Lastly, contrary to to popular belief, my father was not "Buttdrag" as some of you thought.

JMILL reacted to Coach McCormick in Thank You Louis Rosbottom
It is my understanding that Keith Davison is the new ISWA chairman. I first want to congratulate Keith on his new position and wish him the best of luck.
I would like to thank Louis Rosbottom for everything he, and his wife Sharon, have done for the ISWA over the years. Their dedication and devotion to Indiana wrestling is immeasurable. I had the privilege of sitting on the ISWA board of directors for roughly 8 years (a number of years ago) with the Rosbottom's. When you start looking at the ISWA's annual budget meeting, services, programs, the ISWA office, trips, coaches, tournament management, etc, etc, etc, the ISWA is a HUGE undertaking and the Rosbottom's have been a positive influence and driving force behind all of these operations for many years.
Thank you Louis for your servant leadership style of management. Indiana wrestling wouldn't be where it is today without everything you and Sharon have done with the ISWA.
Regards,
Trent McCormick

JMILL reacted to Juggernaut in Middle schoolers who could place
I agree with you completely, and also thank you for your time & effort you give to these kids. On this whole topic of Jr high kids wrestling in high school I believe it is fine , if a younger kid is good enough to complete at that level, why would we won't to restrict that? Do we not continually seek the best competition we can, to try and make our wrestlers better? Some restrictions that we put in place will only restrict our progress in the long run. My son Bryer wrestled for you at the heartland duals in Iowa earlier this year. He's a freshman this season & has been working his tail off . He wrestled IHPO this weekend at 129 & faced the #2 seed in the 2nd round ( Hassan Johnson ) last years IHPO Champion. I honestly didn’t think he had a chance, but he surprised me again with his throw caution to the wind and go for broke style of wrestling that seems to wear people down & pulled out a big upset. Bryer did not place but he did win some big matches against some really good competition in a 64 man bracket. Again thank you for your time and the compliments you gave my son before, it means alot to these young men.

JMILL got a reaction from Sig40 in Middle schoolers who could place
Jesse is an 8th grader, but a stud none the less !!!! Great Job on his victory yesterday and as previously stated by numerous people he is a great kid !
I know his time spent on the Brownsburg Elementary Team State Dual team really shaped his life and his wrestling abilities............so there is that !

JMILL got a reaction from Fabio Jr. in ISWA meeting/Trip Crown/Election this Sunday
I will say this on the subject and I really hope everybody thinks hard about this.
Does the ISWA have its share of issue's that could stand to be tweeked ? Yes what organization doesn't ?
I would think that anyone who wants to get involved and be part of it should do just that and get involved and see what the issues are and how they can help tweek some of the things. I think anyone who thinks that simply running for a desired position without job shadowing, taking time to learn about the position and asking other board members about the requirements has not thought enough about what the responsibilities and requirements are going to be.
I will say this about Coach Davidson, He is a great guy and I like Keith a lot. I think he has a lot to offer and provide to the ISWA, but I just don't think he understands what will be required of him to do the job of the ISWA president and I believe if he knew the time commitment and the requirements he may not want to do it. There is room at some level for Keith to be involved and to lend his help to making the ISWA a better organization but I honestly believe that anyone who thinks that simply voting Keith to president will change all the issue and fix all the problems is just flat out wrong.
My phone number is listed at the bottom of every post I make and I encourage anyone to call me and discuss this with me (just not after 9:30pm as I have to goto bed or I fall asleep at my desk the next day at work).
Please if you have any questions call me and I will openly discuss with you any issue you wish to talk about.
And because this is such an important topic, no #'s to be used

JMILL got a reaction from Justin Ratliff in What's going on with the 195 lb class
No one thinks you would be punking out, sometimes things just don't work out but with that said you should research all options to fund raise and or ride share if its something you want to do as there are people out there that are always willing to help out. Good Luck to you this season and like Grappleapple said this thread has made the board interesting at least !!!!

JMILL reacted to ontherise219 in What's going on with the 195 lb class
Haha I would like to see him compete against some solid comp. over 200 on the stud list it should be a nice day of wrestling. I always welcome anyone to put their rankings out. I always find it tough when you are young and have a strong realationship with a team or club. I always welcome new ideas.

JMILL reacted to Sig40 in Jesse Mendez
Roberson and Frazier(8th grader) are undersized for the weight. Mis and Peele are prolly the weight class up. Zeke Seltzer(8th), Matthew Koontz(8th), and Zeke Escalera would do great. Escalera will be a freshman at Wyoming Seminary so he is probably already in school there training with his team. Several Illinois kids that would make it extremely competitive if they sign up. Jesse is excited to compete and is trying to put some weight on so he won't be giving up much weight to the bigger guys.
