That's why Silas is practicing today, so he can step it up and not bore you anymore. 😀 On a side note Coach Swain and Curry have never coached anyone to stall, that idea cracks me up. They demand you to score points and punch(figure of speech) your opponent in the mouth no matter how much your up or down in a match. Being soft is not tolerated by those dudes. 

Well this topic went a bit sideways.
 
The intent of my original post and topic was that we as coaches have a responsibility to see that injury time isn't abused.  There is a difference between an injury and using the injury timeout to collect your thoughts, breath, escape a situation, etc.
 
If we as a wrestling community are ok with using injury timeout as a strategy, well then my friends, we are no better than basketball and that's a direction I would rather not take.
 
Also, single class wrestling sucks, there, that should get this topic headed in the right direction...

Everyone can have an opinion on whether or not Caden should have wrestled with his knee injury....or whether or not Preston should have wrestled with his completely torn ACL.  At Brownsburg, we listen to doctors with medical degrees.  After meeting with multiple doctors (who have medical degrees and aren't googling it), both wrestlers were told they could push through the season if they chose....and get it fixed after the season.  It was their decision with guidance from their family.  We will continue to listen to people who get paid to be actual doctors.
 

As someone who did not attend the State Finals in person, I have to say we might be the luckiest wrestling fans in the country when it comes to our streaming options of the State Finals. I understand everyone’s complaints about Flo and the issue from the IHSAAtv issue during the placement matches. But the product that was put out there is second to none.
 
There were 3 views it appeared on all of the mats throughout the event. That meant that at almost all times that you could watch the action as it was coming at you. The NCAA doesn’t even get that level of coverage. Even during the NCAA pre-semifinal round you just get a view from upstairs.
 
The commentators on Mats 2-4 for the first two sessions as others have mentioned, were also as good as any I’ve heard. I was thoroughly impressed!
 
Again, I know that some have issues supporting Flo and others had issues with the Placement matches, but Flo had zero issues beyond sound on 1 mat for about 10 minutes. So I want to thank the IHSAA for all of the people who made the streaming experience, for me, so great! I seriously contemplated driving the 5 hours down to Evansville if the streaming was messed up, but thankfully, it was almost perfect!

Didn’t want this to be known,  but now the cats out of the bag. The injury occurred again over the summer late. The choice was to fix it and miss the season or to tape it up and try to grind it and repair it after season. He chose to wrestle as it couldn’t get any worse and to get it fixed now (after season). With that said, it popped out and back in Friday night. It freaked him out. It was slipping all weekend. If he doesn’t set it when it slips, it can go all the way out. Long story short, he didn’t make it through his placement match and we were ok with what he accomplished this season. 
 
With all of this said…  He has wrestled CP 4 times. Cruz twice and Will Clark twice. You guys never had a single drink during those losses. Never took injury against those monsters. 
 
Lastly.. if you are questioning the toughness or integrity of my kid.. you have never met him or the rest of my family. We don’t roll like that. Feel free to call and discuss.
 
The author of this post @Chris Coopercan attest for how tough my boys are. My oldest wrestled for him one summer. Busted his eye wide open at Disney. We glued it shut with super glue 5 times to ensure Columbus East got 6 every round. He still rocks his scar with honor.

Crazy how the only hate in this site over the last few days is directed to the big three. That’s the world we live in now… 10 years ago all you would see is love for kids and hard work. We live in a society where people hate everyone and everything. It’s just sad!!!!

We’ll talk about other wrestlers his teammates accomplishments in another thread . Let’s give this Senior his due . PERIOD !

In my head, this is exactly how I see it. Some rematches would be taking place, but also picking teams where the matches would be interesting and something we haven’t seen too much this season.

This year showed how deep we are which is a good sign. Basically anyone in the top 5 is capable of winning a title. There have been recent years where 7 or more of the preseason #1's were basically locks.

Call the gawd dang Police …. There bout to be verbal assault, mass communication felonies of slang, devils tongue whip lashing longer than Kiss lead singer tongue. 

If anything the IHSAA takes from State Finals being held this year in Evansville to bring back to Indy next year .
KEEP THE FLAMES and Smoke for introductions of the Wrestlers. So ….. Bad As* !!! Can’t wait to see some pictures for the wrestlers and 🔥 in the background . 
 
 
 
 

More like the Big Ten Wrestling of semi-states.  As in Big Ten Wrestling is even more dominant than SEC (Roll Tide) Football. 🤣

Evansville is not only in the top four semi-states. It is THE top. 
 
Nearly as many medals as East Chicago and the Fort combined.  Not even a contest.  Evansville is "Prelim State".  All the others are semi-states.

The general has good posts, and i like them,  but he must be really good.   He had to of  won something like  the"Indianamat contributor of the year" to have all of Indianamat  change their school selection.  This is big.  Sorry #Team Garcia.  The General won this year.   Go "General Heavy Handz".  Fort Wayne is having a big week.

We will be looking to do an area code wars in 2025. Just working on getting a date and getting things setup for it.
 
Kids can only compete for the team with their school's area code.
