Concur. That’s why I don’t think he should default out. He deserves a hand raised and standing ovation..even if not as champ. I’m  disappointed he’d quit…unless injured. 
 
I also totally forgot that he lost his last high school match in epic fashion. What a documentary in the future. 

How do we feel about Spencer lee not weighing in? Unless he’s hurt I would hope he wouldn’t just give up.

So IN wrestling talent/skill has increased, which I agree with (see College Board for the IN dudes doin' work). That has happened in a non-classed system. So now that increased skill is somehow a problem and we "aren't being fair to our kids" so we want to class it to decrease our skill level statewide? I'm really #Confused.

More randomness...

I have mixed feelings on ESPN's coverage at times, but there is no doubt they have made it 100x better than it used to be.  

But the interviews of Will Feldkamp from Clarion and Max Dean do a great job of showing what wrestling is all about and why we love this sport.  If you have access to ESPN's broadcast and missed it, find the interviews.  It's worth the watch.

Nebraska's Brock Hardy tried to go, but couldn't do it and had to injury default out of his 5th Place match.  He was bent over in pain, and looks to have some kind of rib injury.  But had the gumption to shake hands and walk to the opposing coaches to shake their hands before leaving the mat.  He was in serious pain.   And on the flip side, the injury default gave SD State's Clay Carlsson his 100th career win.

Funny, I came here to give him credit for getting up off the mat, shaking hands, and moving away. Saw a lot of laying and sulking yesterday, and I am always impressed when someone in complete athletic devastation has the respect for their opponent, themselves, and the sport to just get up, shake hands, and do whatever is needed to cope behind closed doors. We shouldn’t hope Spencer Lee is injured, but I agree, we should hope he didn’t just throw in the towel.

The lees experienced the one thing 99.9% of all wrestling parents feel…that hopeless feeling you get knowing all your kid put into it for months/years/decades, and not coming out on top. A most humbling part of the sport. But a part nonetheless.

What a freaking night of wrestling and we're only 2 weight classes into the Semis!  

Spencer Lee and Daton Fix both lose in the semifinals and somehow  RBY survives.  He kept his cool in a big way to win in sudden victory 6-4!

Jesse pulls a rabbit out of a hat to earn AA Status.  Unfortunately, Rooks couldn't get it done and loses 6-2

What's with the click-bait subject titles lately.  "It's Official"  or "Potential Change."  Neither of these are things that are official changes or even considered openly as a potential change by the IHSAA that governs the sport.  The only groups that actually can make any of this happen. How about just saying it like it is, "I now see the light of Class wrestling" or "Here a 1A/2A Option to Consider"  If someone need clicks to up their status or are staved for discussion just let us know what to click on to help out, but stop with these suggestive subject titles that just a bait-and-switch.

I swear I heard him pronounce Minn-a-Sooo--taaahh yesterday with the hard twang! Was waiting for the "yah-der-eh" at the end. He is good.

The arena announcer does a helluva job, I'm impressed with his ability to keep up with all 8 mats, announcing results and some play by play as well as sharing tidbits on the wrestlers.  You can hear him if watching on the ESPN app when you select an individual mat that doesn't have specific announcers.  

Rooks goes up big early and just about pulls out the W against VanNess. Unfortunately SVN was able to mount yet another late comeback. He will have either Demas or Blockhus next and if he wins that he will likely have either Gomez or Murin in the blood round
