Manzona's accomplishments are above, but Riley Bettich is a two time finalist, a state champ, and two years left.  I think Manzona probably has better national accomplishments, but if you are just looking at credentials I think he is in the discussion for biggest transfer this year.

I, at Maconaquah, is looking for girl teams for possible match ups in the month of December? We are looking to invite some girl teams 12/1. If you know of any teams or have a interest let us know.
Also, does anybody know of any girl team invites going on in the state?

Thanks for any ideas or leads!
    Sincerely,

I saw Culver had some good recruits coming in.  Too bad Bryant left as they could of have a stacked team.  I guess that changes things a little bit.   I suppose at an academy,  you can get some surprise blue chips and can lose some.

Probably the biggest move is Manzona Bryant to Western Reserve Academy in Ohio.

As a part of a greater project we now have the brackets from every state tournament from 1985 until 2018. Please feel free to peruse these great brackets and point out any errors in names or spellings or results...or to praise me for the great work. The best way to view is use the sort and go by year. In the future it will be MUCH easier to navigate. I am hoping to add the other years soon.

Junior Greco National Champion Lucas Davison!   Showed a nice variety of techniques in his last match including a lift to a 4 point throw.
Lucas now stands amoung the rare group of wrestlers who have been able a accomplish both a Freestlye and Greco Junior National Title in the same year at Fargo.

I might be way off but one thing I think we could improve on as a state is mat strategy. Knowing when to give up the step out. when to just lock up a hold and try to get an exposure. Small Small things but things I notice from Ohio and IL. Slowly but surely we are clawing up there. I thnk our Par Terre overall has improved over the last few years and thats a big deal.

Did Eli Pokorney commit to Purdue? Tony Ersland tweeted about a big guy committing last week and just noticed Flo put Purdue as his college in the rankings. Haven't heard anything official yet

If Trump wasn't President, this wouldn't be getting much attention at all.

Here is the crazy thing to me... Wrestler's are pretty mentally tough individuals. If someone touches them and they don't want to be touched, one would think.. the wrestler wouldn't put up with it and destroy the person touching them. That's my first thought. But, I've never bee in that situation so I can only empathize. I have spoken to several female rape victims and they common theme I hear is they don't want to tell anyone out of embarrassment, so it could be that as well.
The second thing that comes to mind is... How does stuff like this happen? Penn State, Michigan State, and now Ohio State? Terrible LEADERSHIP by all involved.

Third, It's so hard to believe anything with this case because of Jordan's political status. He's a top republican and now he's under attack by all the liberals.. They won't let this go and will go after him hard, simply because of politics and not because of facts...
Finally, as previously mentioned, $$$$$$ MSU had a HUGE (In Trump's voice) payout and these two former criminals are in for a nice payday.

Exactly - these two are out for the money and will take down anyone; the bull pucky that "they considered Jordan their friend".  Both Yetts and DiSabato have shown they will fook their friends for anything. Yetts got people he befriended to invest with him, including their retirement savings, and he stole that, before being busted with marijuana distribution, etc. Only served 18 months and he got off light. He originally attended Purdue for football scholarship his RS & freshman year and had a reputation then before bolting for Ohio State to wrestle.
DiSabato has sued or been sued in just about every venture he has participated in, and is possibly still having money issues; he also has had litigation with Ohio State University; will be interesting to what his brothers say about him or Head Coach Russ Hellickson.   https://www.thelantern.com/2009/11/fighting-for-then-losing-to-ohio-state/
Some of the other wrestlers are claiming that they are doing it for the money given the payouts MSU is looking at:

"Pardos, who has been interviewed by investigators, accused some of his former teammates of trying to cash in following Michigan State University's $500 million settlement with hundreds of sexual abuse victims of former university and USA Gymnastics physician Larry Nassar.
"After Larry Nassar, everyone is seeing dollar signs," Pardos said.

If you have ever had any dealings with either Jeff or Jim Jordan in the 1980's or 1990's, you would find they are two of the most down to earth, no-nonsense people you will ever deal with. They will have your back, but are professional about it - they are not the type of people to be out partying it up with the team, setting a bad example. They are persons of few words, but those few words they did use were important and honest.

We had a single Greco camp at crown point from the Illinois assistant greco coach and..... I can put money on it that I learned MUCH MORE about  positioning and how to execute moves than a takedown camp from around here.

Teaches confidence. I'd take that athlete working and doing stuff over the traditional wrestler any day.. personally I love growing and building those athletes and not the traditional wrestler throws, counter attacks, shots from ALL areas and pins from everywhere. I LOVE throws from when guys shoot high crotches or single legs.

    Jared,

I want to  say Congratulations on a GREAT HEAD COACHING Career Avon, LN, & Zionsville!!  You coached numerous State Placers, State Champs, HS All Americans, HS National Champions, NCAA Div. 1,2,&3  wrestlers, Nationals Qualifiers and All Americans.  You were the only Head Coach during the IHSAA Dual Team State era to take 2 different Schools to the IHSAA State Championship match (Avon, LN) both finishing 2nd....Never could win the big one (Ha Ha)!! There are many more accomplishments you have achieved in your career, but those are the ones that counted the most & that I remember!
I wouldn't be the Wrestling Coach, Husband, Friend, or Father I am today without having you as a friend & mentor!  The true greats in any sport are the ones who give back, and leave it better than when they got it.  You have done a tremendous job promoting our sport, growing it at every level,  at every school you were a HC.  I have truly enjoyed every second coaching with you at LN (memories I will never forget) and the battles coaching against you (even though our wives hated those matches) HA HA!!!! You always bring the best out of not only the athletes you coach, but the opponents you coach against.  I am going to miss not seeing you on Saturdays, it will not be the same!!!! Enjoy the 1-0 record against me, you will have it forever!!!
I can't wait to see you in the Hall of Fame, with all the other great coaches who have given countless of hours away from their families, to do good for others in this sport. Enjoy the extra time with your little ones!!!! I know you will keep giving back, see you on the Pee Wee circuit!!

    Your Friend,
    Weimer
