If it's the Evansville semi state shouldn't it stay in Evansville? Anyway, Assembly Hall would be terrible. The Ford Center is a great setup.

OK, since the title of this thread is "Worst Ticket Round Draw Ever". Then your specific scenario is appropriate.
 
But given 4 kids advance at every stage leading up to the finals, then any system that can create a scenario where 2 of the top 3 kids have to face each other in the ticket round with no recourse is severely flawed - no matter the frequency of occurrence.

Unfortunately, Stoll's is closed.

Now that it's tournament time, there are a lot of wrestlers that will not end their seasons the way they want.  It is imperative, that we, as coaches, hold them accountable for their post match behavior, even when it's a disappointing match for them.  I see so many kids throw child-like temper tantrums and are disrespectful to the other wrestler, the referee, the opposing coach, and sometimes their own coach.  We owe it to them to teach them that things in life will not always go their way and that maybe they just didn't work hard enough to accomplish the goal they set out to accomplish.  You know, tell them the truth.  When it is just one individual, I understand, it is probably just the one wrestler, however, when it's the majority of the team, it has to be what is tolerated as a program.  Making good wrestlers is very important to all of us, making great people through the lessons of our great sport, should be the ultimate goal.  Good luck to everyone advancing in the tournament and let's all do our part for the sake of our young people!

But we do know what the number would be...161 points.  It's not hard to figure out and makes for interesting, albeit hypothetical, conversation.  The official record is 112, but it wasn't set by the best team in state history.

You are correct on all of the above. The Evansville Semi State will create some horrible draws for people at state, both from Evansville and people drawing into Evansville. Does a semi state champ want to draw into Rioux, Schaeffer, LaRocca or Feeler? Any of these guys could place 4th in Evansville.  Even Saturday morning looking at one of these four can't make you feel good. 
The draw is always a huge determining factor for teams. Winning on Saturday morning for MD is a must for them to have a legitimate shot at BB or CP, but I think Schaeffer, Seng, May, and Ralph all have the ability to do so. I also think if Egli gets hot he has the ability to make it much further than most people think. Remember, he's a semi state champ from a year ago and would have likely placed pretty well had he not drawn into Cottey. 
I can't wait to see how it plays out, but I agree we could see a record broken this year and I think the state finals are going to be very exciting.
