No disrespect to Sarah: she is the home girl. She doesn’t have the high school accolades to be the GOAT.  The criteria has to include all 3 levels.  

Let’s be honest if Gable had wrestled this year. Parris wouldn’t have had a title. Parris in my opinion has a lot more let to do to be considered the GOAT.

Rinehart missed weight at the regional. The exact amount would only be speculation. He talks about the Cut in the CP movie around the Iron man time 
 
Hawkins was disciplinary unfortunately kids make mistakes it was good to see him on the Mat this weekend. We covered it on Gorilla radio around the time it happened.

Most impressive to me as I watched 4A State Championships . 
 
1. Crown Point - Didn’t skip a beat from its record 2022 IHSAA State Championship run . Proved they’re probably gonna make a run at their own record . 
 
2. Parker Reynolds - was I watching a lil’ Zain Rutherford with these tight tilts . Kid a freshman, wait till he gets man strength around his Jr. Year. I’ll take a skilled wrestling technician over a pinner everyday. That’s just me . 
 
3. Center Grove - Larocca (spell check) what an impressive comeback win over Brownsburg . Kid has a gas tank like no other. Didn’t give up being down 5-0 in the late 2nd & 3rd periods . My Comeback of the Day Wrestler . Wow ! 
 
4. Logan Frazier- made it look easy all day. Not sure he broke a sweat. He’s ready for the next level . Cat playing with its food out there yesterday WOW ! 
 
5. Hosiah Smith - Indiana we have a Contender at 285 . Looking forward to this match up again with Jones . Awesome match ! 
 

Depends on the criteria you are using. If we go by HS and College accolades only, he’s in the conversation for sure. What hurts him is only winning one state title. I know he lost to Micic and Red but the fact remains he’s going up against guys like Angel, Jason, and Andrew Howe, just to name a few, who were all national champions, 3-4x AA, and 3-4x state champs. 

You’re focusing a lot on college accolades which I prefaced my post by saying it depends on what metrics you are using when trying to determine the GOAT. You’re placing a premium on NCAA titles which I agree with but you’re ignoring the lack of HS success which, IMO, has to be considered. Also, there is no such thing as a 5x AA…he didn’t place in the top 8 in 2020 (no one did) so that’s a moot point. I would agree that Howe is the front runner right now if you look objectively at HS and College success.

Most people are a proponent for wrestle backs at semi state more so than state, leaving your example null and void. The argument, at its core, is that there are few weight classes that have the best 16 wrestlers due to the lack of WB’s at semi state. 

Looks like FW has two in the finals and three more going for 3rd. 23 going for 5th-8th.
