Ticket round 2015 EVSS: Austin Bethel pins Freshman Brayton Lee to punch his ticket. Ford Center was LOUD!! Lee would have most likely met another Lee from MD, Nick Lee, who would be your eventual state champion at that weight for the year.

I'm not sure what the actual attendance was, but there had to be 2500 fans or more at the Bellmont - Adams Central Dual last night. They delayed the start of the JV matches by half an hour because of the long line of fans waiting to get in. It was a great atmosphere and the fans weren't disappointed. The teams split the matches 7-7 and Bellmont won on bonus points 38-32.  Thanks to Nat Bryan for taking this picture of the crowd.
 
 

I would like to congratulate Larry Mattingly on his retirement and on an awesome career.  I never met another coach or athlete who didn't think he was a great person.   If you ever met him him you know he is the best joke teller on the planet.  He is the definition of a great mentor to Memorial HS Wrestlers and fellow coaches for 36 years!  I feel fortunate to say I was his assistant for most of them.  Congrats Larry!

Thank you everyone.  It has been a great, successful season.  I couldn't ask for a better group of kids and parents, as you have mentioned above.  These seniors are truly a special band of brothers and will be missed greatly next season, but we have another group coming in right behind them.  But this year isn't over, and we are hoping to get 4 wrestlers on the podium this weekend!

I'm trying to promote this to my team but with the lack of some sort of flier to distribute in person and on social media it has been a challenge. Does anyone know where to find a flier or when one will be available for the qualifier and the state tournament?

Is there a flyer or any other information about the qualifier and the state tournament?

You know it’s almost tourney time by the stages of posts on the forum.

But not for a serious medical condition in high school, he would have placed several times.  He’s healthy now and kicking A$$!!

No offense but are these video's trying to make us feel sorry for this guy and forgive him for killing his cousin?  I feel for the guy for making a horrible decision that ruined the lives of those around his family and himself but I refuse to feel sorry for him.  He is a killer and should be spending way more time behind bars then he has.  Yes, he may have been a great wrestler/football player but he is still a convicted killer.  Both of them were pretty ignorant in my opinion.  Though my opinion really doesn't mean crap but I sure wish that the idiots in charge would bring back the paddle in schools (we use to respect and fear our teachers and coaches when we got out of line) then were horrified when our Parents found out.  We should bring back hard labor to our prison system to make sure that young kids are scared of going there (no air conditioning, cable tv...nothing but just being there).  I have two Grandsons that have non existant fathers that I have gotten into wrestling because I know that this is the best place for them to learn discipline, respect and self confidence. I will teach them morals and values.  God Bless you Coaches and Teachers.   Sorry to bore you but this topic hit me in the heart.
