Kids back in the day walked to school uphill both ways, barefoot in 12 feet of snow! They didn't have video games or the Tweeter and chopped wood for conditioning.
 
Like I said earlier, you put Ellis, Gable, etc in this era and they would thrive just as much. What makes a good wrestler is strength, skill, dedication, determination, etc. That part of the sport will never change.

What is this? Six degrees of Kevin Bacon?

I really think it would be tough for Lance to win 4 titles today. First off, I think Lance is about 43 or 44 years old and he probably doesn't train like he used too. With that being said, my money is still on Lance.

This gives me an idea for a niche market -- orthopedic wrestling shoes designed for older coaches.  All velcro, all white and modeled on the "Shape-Up" tennis shoes that were the craze a few years ago.
 
You'd be able to wear them at practice, then just keep them on for the 4pm dinner trip to MCL Cafeteria at the mall.

So yeah not a blow out.
