Congratulations Jendreas and Courtney!

Gavin Jendreas and Reese Courtney became the 21st and 22nd 3 time Al Smith Champion.

Reese did it in Every Al smith he has wrestled in, lost a year to COVID. Very impressive

Gavin Jendreas will be looking to become the 4th 4x champion

Randy Baker Bellmont

Tommy Forte Mishawaka

Drew Hughes Lowell

Gavin will be tough to beat the champ beneath him and the Champ above him are both Bulldog teammates

If Gavin is a Junior wouldn’t he have done it in every Al Smith he wrestled in to?  🤔

I think his statement was just making the point that Reese,  a Senior, wasn’t allowed the opportunity to become a 4x champion due to covid.

I love seeing this! What a lot of people don't see if the amount of work jendreas puts in and on top of it he is a tremendous teammate and leader for cp always there to hug and high 5 his teammates. He gets just excited for his teammates as he does his own matches! This kid is going places in life! Hard work and great leader =success 👏  extremely happy for him!

For anyone still curious on how brutal the Al Smith is, there have been six 4x state champions between Randy Baker and Drew Hughes’ Al Smith runs. Twice as many 4x state finals winners as there have been Al Smith champions in that time, and would still have a two wrestler advantage if Jesse hadn’t missed his sophomore year due to COVID.
