maligned
Owen Valley, West Vigo, Northview, and Sullivan all with significant changes to their scores above. Everything is thoroughly cross-checked and can be considered official now. Standings will of course change when some teams move in and out of classes when we get the classification data in a few weeks.
maligned
Scores are now updated through regional. See the notes added in the original post to interpret the scores. Here is some additional analysis: --These teams are potential contenders that could move into 2A from 3A or 1A with the new classification data. Their points using the 2A scoring and their available points at semi-state are listed: Roncalli (196, 57); Jay County (148, 36); North Posey (139, 11); Plymouth (136, 47); Cass (125, 45); Oak Hill (124, 48). --Southridge is a contender here that has a small chance to move down in class. Bishop Dwenger, Lebanon, New Prairie, and Wawasee are top 20 teams here that have at least some chance of moving up to 3A. --If nothing changes from the above list with the new classification numbers, then the top 4 here are fairly certain of being in the final Top 10 overall and would represent the minimum scoring levels of the 4 semi-state bids. Recall that the 4 semi-state bids plus the next 6 best scores earn automatic positions. That means earning an overall Top 10 position would be the benchmark for one of the automatic wildcards. --No injury data is added in yet, so there could be small changes with a few schools in that regard as well. Taylor83
Is it still accurate to say injury data is not included? I am sure this is a rare occurrence. Thanks. Edited February 12, 2017 by Taylor83 Taylor83

maligned
Injury and transfer provision points now added in for Western, Indian Creek, and Lawrenceburg. Again, Lawrenceburg and New Haven's seeming automatic bid spots should be considered very precarious because of teams of about this size having potential to go up to 3A and because of a couple bigger schools possibly coming down when we get the new classification data. MOWrestler
Apparently it is much more of a 'hot topic' on the 3A post, but it looks like the "Committee of Power" votes for the remaining 2 slots to fill. If my understanding is correct, in 2A they are choosing between Lawrenceburg, Western, Jimtown, and Culver Academies. I am not a fan of lobbying via webpost, but is there a mechanism by which the "Committee of Power" collects any information from the schools? Or is this vote purely by what the "Committee of Power" already knows from this year, gut feelings, historical data...? Just curious. Also wondering when this vote takes place and schools are notified. Thanks. Anthony Snyder

Taylor83
Each of the four schools have something to offer the duals. It is going to be a very difficult decision. MOWrestler
MOWrestler
Each of the four schools have something to offer the duals. It is going to be a very difficult decision. I would agree with that. That is why I am wondering HOW the "Committee of Power" obtains the 'resume' so to speak for each school. I'm not 'in the know enough' to even know where to send the cupcakes. maligned
Yes, we send out paperwork every year in the weeks prior to the April voting so that teams have a chance to help us understand more about their team--and specifically to understand more about incoming JV and freshmen talent that will impact their quality next year. infowrestling
Super disappointed to be the last team in 3A................as I'm sure Oak Hill feels the same about 2A. If we just went to teams with 3 or fewer wrestlers being pulled out, instead of 2 or fewer, we would have made it.....5 students kept us from being 2A Thanks goes out to maligned and all of those involved in scoring...............I know that it is very tedious and time consuming work, that is often thankless.
