maligned
Nice lists. If you don't get a ton of discussion on them now (but I think you will), re-post them in about 6 weeks and they could be very good discussion fodder.
Smooth34
If its based on accomplishments only, wouldn't Phillips need to be higher as a 2x champ? Also wouldn't Molloy be above Sliga just because he's a state champ?

Also wouldn't Molloy be above Sliga just because he's a state champ? Brooks is a Junior Nationals finalist. Todd and McKinley have their state titles at weights higher than 103, where the majority of competitors are freshmen (plus the obvious Todd over Phillips head-to-head probably caused WU to fudge on the "accomplishments" rule in this instance) Sliga is a many-time national champ with in-state losses only to others with national accolades. Molloy has only in-state success, with none of it coming against anyone that had success on a national level.
Ed Pendoski
Not sure if Molloy has only had in-state success. He beat Ben Morgan, MN (currently #18 by intermat) at Junior Duals and Chase Ferman, OK (currently ranked #11 by The Open Mat, 9th by Intermat) at Fargo. Big Hawaiian
I know it is extremely tough to go 2-3 and become an All-American. Well when all 3 wrestlers in your bracket are all undefeated including you going into the last day and the other half has one and the Champ in both Greco & Freestyle come from your bracket, then you have nothing to be ashamed of. By the way check the record you posted is wrong, you dont take 5th with that kind of record. By the way Fargo by anybody's definition should pull more meaning than your Pre Season open, where you clearly are ranking some higher from their showing their. Not a bad tourney, but it's not anywhere near Fargo, lol Your a great promoter of the sport, take more shots at these kids who work their butt's off, and you belittle them with those comments......Heck someone rewarded the kids more who didn't go to Fargo, what a joke! Every kid I mentioned were ALL American's, while some that are ranked higher was home in bed!!! Get a Clue almighty one...

I thought in-state results were the only ones being evaulated.

These are nice wins, and I think Molloy is national caliber. I meant tangible placement when I said "only had in-state success" with regard to comparing accomplishments. I didn't phrase that very well. I love watching Molloy, and I think he's going to be killer to face for a long time.
Wade McClurg
Jacob Cottey from PM earned an All American finish this summer in Fargo, by beating Tyrone Klump from PA (ranked #9 by themat.com usaw rankings) and Aaron Dick from MN(ranked #7 by themat.com usaw rankings). He beat Kyle Norstrem from FL (ranked #1 by themat.com usaw rankings) at Cadet Duals this summer. He also owns a victory over Noah Teaney (currently ranked #11 by The Open Mat, #18 by Intermat). Jacob lost round to go at semi state as a freshman to the eventual high school state champion. He is 2-1 lifetime against Zack Davis from Penn who is ranked #12 on this list, with a convincing 9-3 win at Disney Duals in June. In my opinion he deserves to be on the top 20 list of 10th graders, because of the quality of people he has beaten the past 2 years.
Winning Ugly
I struggled most with Brooks and Phillips. With Brooks beating Phillips this past year I couldn't put Phillips above him. The National runner up did creep in my mind but I tried to keep it separate.

Winning Ugly
The sophomores list certainly needs a little work. I like the Cottey and Bernard suggestions. I haven't seen Cottey wrestle, the others on the list I have. Did Cottey beat Davis in Folkstyle, Freestyle or Greco? Was it this past year? Thank you for the discussion. I will update the Sophomores as I get more information. I do think national placing should have some weight it will just take me a little longer to look up the results. The Sliga and Molloy decision was based on two high state placings compared to one. I got to see Molloy wrestle during the National duals at Wabash. He is very very good! I would like to start an incoming freshmen top 20 list, I have some ideas but would like some suggestions.
