GO BIG TEN
class of 2011 could be one of the best ever. I was thinking just average compared to other years like other people on here but after the sweep I think the class of 2011 is a step above most years. Have we ever swept Illinois at the allstar meet? Yes I know they did not have all of the state champs and we had some kids not go also and that happens every year, that being said they are one of the top wrestling states and very deep. I am also starting to think this class has more kids that should be ranked on the national rankings and this class is one of the best ever in Indiana.Illinois is for real and this is a major stepping stone for indiana wrestling. 1oldwrestler
I appreciate your enthusiasm but I think you may be putting the cart before the horse here. The IL team had a lot of 2A kids in their big school lineup. They brought three 3a champs and they all won fairly convincingly over our guys. Plus, they threw a kid who had placed 4th in 3a at 130, into the 145 slot for this dual. Also, I believe the IL 112 pounder had to wrestle both small and large school. Though IN did a great job, to call the class of 2011 one of the best of all time is overstating things fairly dramatically based solely on this comp with IL. maligned
And yes, we've swept before. We almost always win the 'small school' match. The 'big school' match is usually quite close when it's in Indiana since a few less Illinois big guns show up, and we usually lose significantly in the big school division when it's in Illinois. Still, it was a nice win since we often lose the big school match even when it's in Indiana like this year.
Barrq
If you would look back this class as middle schoolers did very well at the middle school duals. Maybe they do deserve a little more credit than there getting. Alot of the same kids!!

MattM
can anyone post the results history of this meet? Based on some past threads on the subject. We have sweep IL the last three years. In 2010 the Asics USA Dream Team faced Illinois which may have limited one or two of the top talents from competing in the IN/IL Duals though many competed in both. Barrq, don't get me wrong, I think these kids did a heck of a job but I was responding to the post that stated this group could be the class of seniors ever produced in the state of Indiana. They could very well be, but time will tell that, not their performance in the IL/IN duals.
