  1. if the ratings system is a harbinger of the tournament, i expect the tournament to be a top-notch event. i fully expect the ihswca to keep the event and have no desire to turn it back to the ihsaa. keep up the good work! Believe me, if the IHSAA wants it back...they will get it back....lol
  2. lol...just messin with ya Brennan....sometimes it gets too serious on here...
  3. Let's settle it....5:55 friday night...Jt vs. Cosgrove....That would still give JT 3.5 minutes to make it back for the parade....lmao...and Y2 can be the ref!
  4. I thought he was 182-0...but whatever....he was damn good and at that time, THE most feared opponent...A guy I went to high school with wrestled him at semi state and got wiped VERY quickly and the guy was pretty good, that was back in the day when you only had to win one in SS to make it...I have been looking for some video of Lance wrestling but I guess VHS doesn't transfer well to you tube....damn I'm old...
  5. I am going with Ellis all 4 years...his senior year ended with a pin under the lights....plus I'm old and that's one memory that sticks (and the refs never made him cut his hair...hippy)..lol....Really there are too many to just get down to one...
  6. I will restate what i said earlier....If someone is uncomfortable watching her or wrestling her then there is probably a good reason...she is a better WRESTLER than who you are rooting for or she is kicking your a$$ and this is just an excuse... Here is IHSAA's stance on the girls playing boys sports and boys playing girls sports...I find it very very open for interpretation....Again, GOOD LUCK Ms. Miracle! http://www.ihsaa.org/dnn/portals/0/Flip%20Book/By-Laws_1/index.html
  7. I haven't had the chance to see her wrestle this year but, I did last year. She IS the real deal. She is very technical and has great balance and poise. As a metter of fact she is stronger than most of the boys at that weight class. I was so excited to see that she qualified for state I scared my wife to death when I yelled! Congrats Kayla! I look forward to seeing you on the podium this weekend! I can see the tshirts already..."Believe in Miracle"....I may start selling em! As far as being uncomfortable wrestling her, maybe they should be uncomfortable if she is whipping your BUTT!!
  8. Thanks Y2! Looks like we showed them! I wish I could have been there!
  9. No one has mentioned Michigan. Getting a degree from Michigan is tough but when you do your options are limitless. Plus they have a very good wrestling program. It all depends on what he wants to study. I'm sure he will weigh all options! Good luck Jason!
  10. WOW!!! That kid is unbelievable! Maybe someone can get him to move to Indiana! I am awestruck!!
  11. He did wrestle very well...I gave him a standing O....so close....I really thought he had him!
  12. Sorry I misspoke...Blanton beat Binion...
  13. I went last night. What a great night of wrestling! Only 2 surprise with Binion getting knocked out by 4th place SS Bradley and Blanton from alexandria getting through. They both wrestled extremely well. i won't be able to go today because it is my wifes birthday so I thought better of even asking! ;D....I am going to team state next weekend. There will bve some outstanding wrestling today. I foresee some upsets this morning! Wish i could be there!
  14. i think the 171 semi's will be the toughest! Lynde v Manning Bratcher v Stein Its a toss up!!!
  15. Does anyone have 2 suite tickets for sale for just Friday night?
  16. My wife's birthday is on saturday.....how do you think that is going to go? Let me tell you. I am going to Conseco Friday night and that is it. I am going to the team state though. I had to trade, there was no way around it. She always makes my birthday a whole weekend thing so I felt bad for even thinking of going saturday. It's a good thing I kinda like her!! lol ;D
  17. They could make calls like college...really quick!!!
  18. I remember always eating at the Farmers market and Union Station....Those were the good ol days!!! I am pumped for this weekend!!!
  19. What you should say is" Let the whining begin!!!".... ....I am ready to watch some great wrestling!!!! Good luck to all involved!!!
  20. Sorry, it just seems like they are bigger schools. I don't pay attention to classes all that much. I knew Delphi wasn't. I never did understand how they class schools anyway. I guess none of it matters the IHSAA will do what they want anyway.
  21. Maybe so, I just like the way the Individual Tourney is already. When a kid wins state, he is THE best in the state. I don't know, maybe classing that might be good also. I see both sides.
  22. Being a coach of a small school, I am all for classing the Team State but not the Individual tournament. There are a number of smaller schools that would benefit from having the Team tournament classed. It would indeed get the community involved more if they knew that their High School team had a chance at a State Championship. Yes, small schools will travel. The smaller communities will come together and support their team. 7 out of the 8 teams in this years Team state are 5a schools. If it were classed the smaller schools would still have a fighting chance at a State Title. As it is, it may never happen. It should be about the kids and classing the Team State would give the kids, that may not have a chance at an individual championship, another shot. The individual tournament is the most exciting thing we have. Back in my day it was the school that had the most make it to state usually won the team championship. I didn't mind that either, it was still exciting although it was usually Mater dei, Delta or Belmont. ;D.....Just my opinion. Btw, who do I talk to about this survey for IHSWCA members? I haven't received that and would like to vote.
