NavyGonzo
hey decebell, just wanting, wat is ur reasoning for having bellmonts heavyweight seeded above South Adams heavyweight, Bellmonts has 4 losses, and South Adams has none. The Bellmont guy will automatically get the #1 seed, because he was the sectional champion in that weight class last year. Unless the South Adams guy beat the Bellmont guy this season. I think the basic criteria for seedings @ sectional go in this order: 1. Head to Head 2. Common opponent win/loss 3. Returning Champion in that weight unless #1 or #2 apply 4. individual record/winning %, but must have over 10 matches
decbell1
That should be the best bout at tonight's sectional seeding. The problem with giving Meyer the #1 seed is that West beat him twice after Daniel beat him in the sectional finals. I'm just guessing that they won't be able to agree tonight, and it will come down to a vote........................... and I doubt a majority of coaches there vote a Bellmont wrestler as a #1 seed when they can do otherwise. NavyGonzo
They shouldn't argue it too hard. They are clearly the two best in the class and will surely meet in the finals, regardless of a seeding.

decbell1
conspiracy theory or Bellmont haters????? Neither, I just think that that's the way it is. I'm not saying I would do anything differently if I were another coach. It is somewhat important, as the Blackford kid is pretty decent and if I remember, is the WHOLE 285 pounds. newking
I'm not sure the previous poster meant any disrespect to Roe, but he was simply stating a fact, not an opinion. He has gone 29-1 and to my knowledge, has not wrestled a single kid in the current Top 20 Rankings. He hasn't even cracked Y2's FW SS Rankings. I'm not saying he won't place Top 5 at state and I'm not saying he won't make it out of sectionals, but it is obvious that there aren't a whole lot of quality wins out of those 29. ya but really the only thing that matters is that who ever steps out there on the mat he beats, i rrly dont think it is his fault that he hasnt wrestled much comppettion. but he has looked good doing it . fair? NavyGonzo
Anyone who gets 29 wins with a single loss is a good wrestler, but a lack of competition can hurt people in the long run... I still think Roe gets to semi state. Do I think he'll win regional? No, simply because he'll have Gonzales, Shaw, and Bryant coming out of the Delta sectional, which I think he can wrestle right with Shaw and Bryant, but I think Stevie would be a little too much for him. Do I think he'll make it to state? No, but possibly depending on a good draw at semi state. I have seen stranger things happen.

decbell1
Several things stand out to me..... 1. Hankenson as the #2 seed. 2. 145 is VERY weak 3. It seems like a lot of ACAC guys switched weights from where they were at conference. 4. How in the world do these Union City guys come in with such good records and hardly ever finish where they are seeded?

The records were pretty even and to save time, Bellmont just let have Blackford have the #1 seed. No point to arguing over it. 2. Yes it is 3. I think some of the weight changes are cause teams tried placing their guys where they could pick up more team points at conference. I'd say the only big change was Batt going 119 and Striker going 125, I really see no point to that. 4. Some are probably inflated from forfeits. But they do have two solid kids at 112 and 130. He got 7th at the ECIC, that's about all you need to know. The #4 seed from Norwell got 5th at that same tournament. Bellmont has beaten the Norwell kid. NavyGonzo
The Union City kid lost to the Norwell kid at ECIC. That is why he is seeded 5th. No, I have not seen Roe wrestle, but I am just going by results that I have seen. He has had quite a few close matches against, what I feel are weak opponents. Bryant has wrestled several ranked opponents this year which is why he has 8 losses. Shaw has only 3 losses, 2 to Gonzales and 1 to Armantrout. Gonzales has only one loss (OT against Todd) and has beaten and dominated several quality opponents. I'm not trying to say Roe is a bad wrestler, I'm just saying its gonna get much tougher for him.
