Here's critieria Ohio uses to seed their District champions in order to separate top 3 placers in the state tournament.
    D. Returning OHSAA State Placers that finished either 1st, 2nd or 3rd the previous year will be separated in accordance with their previous place provided they qualify for the State Individual Tournament as a District Champion.
    E. If Returning State Placers are from the same district, the wrestler(s) only loss must be to a top three (3) state placer from last year.

Great point Jeremy.  It aligns with Silas and I's philosophy to a "T".  Being fairly new to the sport of wrestling compared to many on this site (7yrs). I would grow a little more perturbed every year as I would hear parents/coaches/wrestlers complaining about draws, or hoping they had an easy road through.  I can tell you this......that was rarely an issue with the Doah coaches.  Slivka, Gary Jr & Sr each had a "bring it on mentality".  Being cut from that similar cloth, is a major factor of our growing so close off the mat as well.  I'll only add that Coach Barbosa has carried on that same approach. It comes natural for him being from the south side of Muncie. ?  Assistant Coach Walker is no different.
The Allred outlook is simple......Those who worry about the draw are entertaining fear & self doubt.  Hoping for an easy path is reserved for individuals whose bartering for podium spots.  Not for those whose goal is its peak.  Cressel & Walton are both very deserving of all the recognition and success they've worked so hard for.  They're well coached and their college commitments speak for themselves.  However.....these are matches we've wanted all season.  But we'll focus on beating Moore Friday night first.
Bottom line......We love the draw.  Awesome opportunity to make a LOUD statement!  And they'll be dealing with a hungry youngster whose well prepared, well studied, unafraid to lose.....and wrestling free with no pressure. The best 182lb'er in the State will stand on top of the podium this weekend regardless of their bracket pairings.  And it could be any 1 of 16 young men in the bracket.  We genuinely wish everyone competing a great week of practice, continued good health and to just enjoy the moment.  Go to war, have fun and score points.  Never lose sight of how much of a blessing it is to be there.

I don't know how you can determine who the "best" wrestlers are. No disrespect to those that do the awesome rankings here, but those aren't gospel. You can't say kid A is ranked higher than kid B, so he must be better. If that was the case, only the No. 1 ranked guy should win each year. Ultimately, the best wrestler in the state tournament that weekend will be the one that wins, no matter who is in front of them.

Agreed some officials stop the second even a finger goes out others let them keep wrestling until both wrestlers are completely out.

There needs to be some clarification on the out-of-bounds calls (when one wrestler is going for a pin) and also when is a takedown awarded while going out of bounds.
If anyone has access to the rules, please post. I saw a LOT of variation on these calls this past weekend

Word on the street is IHSAA got word of this post and felt so offended that they took the brackets down. In return, they're shipping participation ribbons out to everyone that wrestled this year so everyone is satisfied.

Seeding is big in Indiana, at least for farmers.  The IHSAA doesnt like it.  Were lucky they let us seed sectionals.

I am not against seedings, but I don't like the idea of settling on them. The tournament needs wrestlebacks. While seedings might help at times, they don't truly ensure anything.

It's rather annoying to see people who've never wrestled try to explain their position on why wrestle-backs shouldn't be a thing. Safe to say, they're clueless. So, if we can't have wrestle-backs, let's at least try to get a more focused effort on seeding so we can somehow get the best wrestlers advanced.

You got a point there Region Rat.  I got an idea.   Travel and breathing some oil refinery air just gets us southerners late in the match.  How about a swap every other year.  So every odd year, lets host it at the best facility in the semi state, Mackey arena.  Ill go down the street, and ask my buddy Matt Painter to schedule game out of town that weekend.
We dont have Taco El Real, but we got TacoRico.  Triple XXX could have a special.  Ill talk to DT Kirby best sports bar to take care of you. Iwas talking to him today about East Chicago SS and he said he lived a few years as a kid in the sunny side of East Chicago.  He makes the best Italian Beef in the state.
Anyway everybodys hub caps would be safer, and we got this factory in town that makes Corn Syrup.  It doesnt smell as good ole Oil refinery emissions, but you might like the smell.
Maybe with some home mat advantage, the Logansport might buy a few more tickets.

    Alright Ladies and Gentleman,
It's time for the Mudflap's favorite post of the year.  Back in the old Merrillville Semi-State days we used to experience lots of overcrowding issues.  We had dirty Region mill workers sitting right on top of toothless Logansport Regional farmers in their overalls.  It was chaos.  Our old friend HOWDOG offered up the most genius solution to the overcrowding issue.  If the Logansport Regional teams would leave the bus running so they could quickly vacate the premises after their rude welcoming to Region wrestling, we could clear the place out and have more spacious accommodations for the Region Rat crowd to enjoy the rest of the day.  Thus, "Who Should Keep the Bus Running?" was born.  While the accommodations at East Chicago Central are more spacious, the question is still valid.  Who should keep the bus running?  What is the best record that is going home without a ticket?  Will Hall of Famer Tommy Miller punch a ticket and look to improve upon his 2-13 coaching record on Friday night in 32 seasons or will he be a spectator from the Good 'Ole Boys table at Bankers Life?  So many unanswered questions.

I will set the OVER/UNDER for Logansport Regional State Qualifiers at 5.5 and take the UNDER.  3 Raiders, 1 Frontiers-men, and 1 BC Bison punch tickets.  Tacos appear to be on the menu for OnTheRise219.
