  1. There are plenty of basketball players, football players, baseball players, etc. that can do things other people can't. Wrestling doesn't have a monopoly on bad asses.
  2. Agreed. My son stopped wrestling 3 years ago. He just didn't enjoy it. Even though I love the sport, it made no sense for me to me to push him into something he didn't like. Plenty of life lessons can be learned from other activities besides wrestling. It's his life, not mine. I encourage him to try many different sports/activities and find his own path.
  3. Wow, that was difficult to read. Sounds like Littell won't be at PM next year though.
  4. I know my exact HS record. I can't tell you much about 99% of my wins, but I can tell you the score and the name of the wrestler that beat me in each of my losses.
  5. Come on guys. We all know that it is only recruiting if a Parochial/Private school accepts a transfer.
  6. There have been plenty of underclassmen have had success at the upper weights.
  7. If it's not a big deal then why start a thread about it?
  8. Once Goebel is added to the list, he'll be at least 3rd. Not 100% sure, but I believe his record was 533-14-2. 97% winning percentage.
  9. Nick lost to the the only person in the state that could beat him last year. IMO, he would get nothing out of tech/pinning every person he would have wrestled in the state this year. Not a knock on the state, it's just reality. As an MD alum, I really wish he was on the team this year. But that is for purely selfish reasons. He and his family are doing what they feel is in the best interest of his long term goals and I completely understand that and wish him nothing but the best of luck. I would like to see him enter the Beast of the East or some other high level HS tournament this season. But he appears to have upped the ante and is seeking out even better competition by entering senior level freestyle events.
  10. Always have to get in that dig at the coaches association, eh Y2?
  11. Back on topic...Nick Lee shows why he is the best in the county. #thecountyhijacksthreads
  12. The topic is HS legacy. A zero time champ can't be in the discussion.
  13. Of all the great wrestlers from SW Indiana you chose Drake Stein?????
  14. Not one of those guys is in the same neighborhood as Nick.
  15. From a selfish perspective, I am disappointed that I won't get to see him wreck everybody all season long. I don't think anybody in the state would have stayed within 8 points of him this season. But he's already a state champ and has bigger goals than HS wrestling. If he and his family feel this is the best route to achieving those goals, who am I to say otherwise? I hope he enters some big HS tournaments like Beast of the East, etc. this year, along with maybe some college opens. At least we still have Joe and now Matt Lee to watch this season!!
  16. I believe he only had one victory that did not get bonus points. That was a 9-2 decision in his first action of the year coming off that injury.
  17. Yes, he's supposed to wrestle Arajau. At least according to Flo.
  18. He was good, but Reitz's best was Alan Grammer.
  19. Bethel found a nice pin? I remember it differently. I remember Bethel taking it to him the whole match, putting him on his back a couple of times before the pin.
  20. so the ISWA isn't the only organization that lets things slide. Should we demand the powers that be to open inquiry as to why we were allowed to compete?
