Being from a South Bend school, I’d like to think positively like that. Lack of admin support. Lack of interest. Limited feeder school support. Then you have my biggest issue, coaches have to live in South Bend.

South Bend has some nice areas but its very dependent on what Notre Dame deems worthy of being fixed up they run that town like a Mafiaoso.

That coming from a ND fan.

Coaching at the South Bend schools is tough. Almost as tough as living in South Bend.

That’s why you pick Mish…jokes aside this stuff always goes in cycles, not all programs can be a constant power house like EMD so I do believe it’s probably a down year or years but it will come around

  4. I just glanced the bracket and only 2 of the top ten teams as of now are ranked in the top 20 for boys (lake central at 14 and new pal at 18) This parity is great and hopefully the success of these programs will help those teams grow their boys team. more parity is nothing but upside for indiana wrestling. These girls don't realize how instrumental they are in the future of our sports, I consider them our saviors. Keep it upp ladies and coaches grow it!

This^^^^ I remember Bellmont would be like that. "Awesome I get to wrestle a JV kid" and then all of sudden you were doing everything you can to get them off your leg. The next year they would place. Good stuff.

and he was probably a Baker.....

if it was EMD it would be a Weinzapfel (i probably butchered that spelling)

  6. One thing i know is that some of these higher tier schools have a ton of kids who should be brought up like this I think of Adam Guerra who was behind me and Josh harper for 3 years and came in as a SR and got 5th. Give them 2-3 years of Varsity comp and he could easily compete with high level guys but got one year to do so. Those kids are the real heroes who put their time in to help their teammates be the best they could be  and for just one shot for their own. And never once did those guys say something about it just kept busting their hump. So maybe not state champs but champion humans either way
