Grenadier2012 got a reaction from allritecoach in The IHSAA was right.
Essentially, all that I've gathered from this entire thread is that single class supporters refuse to accept facts and use anecdotal evidence as truth. Multi-class supporters use valid evidence and statistics to prove their point, but to no avail. It's like playing chess with a pigeon...

Grenadier2012 reacted to Y2CJ41 in 10 Reasons Why Increasing to 24 Wrestlers At State Helps Everyone
Increasing the state tournament qualifiers by 112 = give everyone participation trophies....awesome analysis.
We really should only allow the four semi-state champs to go to state. How about that?
It's funny how when we increased the number of semi-state qualifiers no one said "ohh you're giving away participation trophies."

Grenadier2012 reacted to maligned in Deepest weight class ever?
It's still always going to be hard to call 103/106 (especially the old 103) the "deepest weight." It's so often more like the "futures" division where we get to see the prospects for the future duking it out. Most of those guys in that specific season were a considerable tick down from the quality they eventually showed. Deepest "futures" division ever--yes. Deepest weight in terms of best guys AT THAT MOMENT--I find it hard to make that assertion.

I am all for a complete selection process for the Duals teams. If you win a state Title (I mean a REAL State Title) odds are you are good enough to be on the team. We have been beaten like ragdolls in the past few years. If we want to stay competitive it needs to be done that way.

Grenadier2012 reacted to maligned in Purdue Transformation
I'm not saying your assessment is wrong, but you can't cherry pick results. Through Illinois, they've wrestled 7 opponents that are the same as last year's schedule and they are averaging 4 points per match better in point differential in those matches. They also have 3 wins over ranked opponents this year compared to 0 last year. That's what the FULL schedule says. You still certainly can make the argument that injury recoveries have helped that, but what college team doesn't have a lineup in constant flux due to injuries? As we go further along, I'm not sure there's any fair barometer other than getting more wins and getting better results--whoever happens to be on the mat. Purdue is a little better team this year than last; I think that's all anyone is really trying to say so far--once you read past the attention-grabbing word "transformation".

Grenadier2012 got a reaction from Powerline in Purdue Transformation
Don't worry about anything Powerline says. He's to Purdue and the Ersland era what Bronxbomber is to IU. (Not that I don't agree with the IU situation)

Grenadier2012 reacted to NIaGrad in The Region vs The Men in Gold
Maybe politics and wrestling could merge and we could have a new sport called Gerrywrestling. I'm sure we could devise a school district that could win a state championship.

Please tell me you're joking? That Glenn Robinson is a fat, bald, white dude! Gelen's dad does not resemble that description in any way, shape, or form. Intentional or not, that's hilarious.

Yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that's not what he does...Not as easy and often as you make it sound anyway.

Region math:
Region teams at team state = nasty tournament
Region teams stay home = easy tournament

Grenadier2012 reacted to ontherise219 in When are the Next Individual State Rankings
This is always one of my favorite comments you unranked our guy who we didn't send any info in about and haven't posted a dual result for. I'm always open for a pm and I always return messages. Which kid are you talking about? I think the Evansville semi state is pretty well represented in the rankings I'm hoping to start the update Saturday and have it up Sunday.

Grenadier2012 got a reaction from In The Bleachers in Anyone think Sliga can AA this year?
Anything can happen, but I don't think it's realistic to think he AA's this year. From the few times I've watched him it just looks like he's undersized for 184. He's a solid scrambler, but it's hard to do when you're undersized. On top of that, to be an AA you've got to be able to get away on bottom, or at least create some sort of movement, which looks like another weakness of his. Again I could be wrong because this is just from limited observations.

Grenadier2012 reacted to Disco in Indiana vs Wisconsin
I think the one positive that Indiana can take from this loss is ,I'm positive that the Hoosiers won't win any duals in the Big Ten this year. Joking aside, this is such a dismal program, I don't know if anyone in the country would take the head coach job at this point.

Grenadier2012 got a reaction from PreparetoWin in Evansville Semi State Rankings
With the exception of 220, all of them were SS qualifiers last year and 2 of them were ticket rounders.
