Best ones I have seen this year was Columbus East. I thought the fit on their shorts and shirts were ideal and looked good too. Everybody else I have seen wear the shorts I feel have been a little bit on the baggy side, but as far as functionality, there were no issues I seen during the matches. An ideal thing to do when introducing anything new however, is to reevaluate how it worked out for the year and make necessary adjustments. Crossing my fingers.

Well he is retired now, so he has a little bit more time on his ugh...hands?

Nicely done! I love what the Wheeler program is doing and always a pleasure talking with them at events.

Great dual meet. Super exciting. If Warren won it would have came down to criteria- and that would have made it 8 matches pm to 6 burg. Ended up being 7 matches to 7. Burg had a misconduct in the match and I’m not sure how that would have figured in in the criteria if it came down to that. Congrats to Brownsburg for another state championship. We’re going to enjoy the holidays and get back on the grind. We’ve got big duals coming up against Cathedral and a rematch against Brownsburg in a few weeks. We’re gonna keep working hard and getting better. Awesome day of wrestling to all teams involved.
I believe the team with fewest misconduct points is the first criteria used. I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong.

The IHSWCA needs to figure out the table help, they were asking for help before the start. Worst case require someone from each team at the table and one on the camera.
I agree. Pretty important aspect of the tournament, table help. I could only assume they did not realize the extra help that would be needed to stream the event. I again am confident that this will be addressed and the improvements implemented. See you in about a week!

My only gripe is not being able to see the entire mat. I don't think it is asking much to fix that aspect. It would have been nice to remove the bottle of water that was in the feed for the Portage/Brownsburg dual also. It is nice to finally have it streaming and I am hoping that as every year, improvements will continue to be made to better the event.

I give a big thumbs up for chasing matches, was quite proud that my boy wanted the big matches all of last year. Everyone starts 0-0 each week of the Post Season.

Not to interject XCard, as I hear what your saying..but sometimes you don't achieve the score your looking for or think you should, or the one you need to get into your 1st choice so you retake them. With this being the last chance, it could play a role..that's all I'm saying. Also, scholarship $$ are often dependent upon test scores so if you're close and $$ on the line, you take it again.
And good luck to everybody tomorrow! 120 looks incredible..
Agreed, most will take it more than once. I guess I am just saying that there are other dates avaialable to take it multiple times other than the only month that would effect the wrestling season. Everyone has specific reasons for taking when they do, to each their own. Appreciate the discussion on the topic.

Well December is the last time you can take it before March. And if you are trying to apply to schools before March then this is the last time you can take it.
Also dates in August, October, and November with dates available as well the previous year if plans to take it multiple times.
Please don't take it as an attack on Zack, as we have a big name guy that will be taking it this Saturday as well as a couple others. I personally just feel there are opportunities to take the test on other dates to avoid missing any wrestling for the Season.

This has been on the table for a few years with the IHSAA and TW. The issue as it stands today, is that Indiana only has two individuals that run the Semi States that are comfortable with running TrackCast systems. The IHSAA would also have to rent TrackCast setups for the events, and they would have to be rented early. One other issue is with using high school gyms, rarely do they have enough bandwidth to stream effectively (EC Central). The IHSAA has stated it is an all in or all out system at this point. We are trying to work with ECC to see if we could stream there!
What would be some possible solutions to create more bandwidth?

We have some guys that are taking SATs also in the upcoming weeks. Academics should always come first.
But...
Let's be honest, we are talking about December, January, and February that need to be avoided to make sure our guys are ready to compete in our scheduled matches, most of which are set with plenty of time to plan around. It is a little frustrating as coaches when a kid tells you he scheduled it during a tournament weekend. Not the end of the world, but something we definitely try to plan around in future seasons.
Good luck to all the wrestlers this weekend, always great wrestling at the Harvest.

With Lowell playing in the semi-state finals this Friday, Lowell cancelled their JV tourney. Any Jv tourneys fairly close to the region this saturday?
I question the decision to cancel if this is indeed the reason for the cancellation.

Penn is hosting the Regional that you have inquired about.

Cruz beat him at the Frosh-Soph State if you are taking that into consideration. Either way is ok by me>

Highest placing senior with a strong likelihood that Joe Lee is invited, I know he wants to come rep Indiana one more time! In the case of a 2nd/3rd placers both being seniors if the 3rd beat the 2nd placers we'll take the 3rd placer most likely. We had a scenario like that for Pittsburgh where we took the 3rd placer because he won the week before at semi-state.
I may be in the minority, but I would like to see one of Indiana's Seniors that will be competing during their Senior year for a respective Indiana High School. As much as I think Joe Lee is very deserving of an invite to the event, I think we should consider the opportunity that could take away from another Senior that may still be trying to prove themselves on a National level. Just a thought for discussion.

Makes sense. Definitely would like to see it down at the High School level.

In all honesty I think this is easily fixed by putting in the rule book a simple note that the ref has discretion for the safety of the wrestlers.
Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the out of bounds rule being less subjective in the first place?
