    UFC Fight Night

MAIN CARD (Televised) Carlos Condit vs. Martin Kampmann Ryan Bader vs. Carmelo Marrero Rafael dos Anjos vs. Tyson Griffin Junie Browning vs. Cole Miller PRELIMINARY CARD (Un-televised) Jeremy Stephens vs. Gleison Tibau Ricardo Almeida vs. Matt Horwich Brock Larson vs. Jesse Sanders Nick Catone vs. Tim Credeur Nissen Osterneck vs. Jorge Rivera Rob Kimmons vs. Joe Vedepo Tim McKenzie vs. Aaron Simpson Ryan Jensen vs. Steve Steinbeiss Right now the Jensen fight is off, he disclosed that he takes Adderal and the board pulled the fight. I don't see how ADD medicine can have an affect on a fighter Stephens and Tibau also both missed weight and are fighting at a catch weight of 168.5
  2. Oh crap, the last time I was a member was the last time we took someone to state. Maybe it's some type of X-Files type mystery. I'm not a member of the IHSWCA and I take extreme offense to the comments above. I run the elementary program, coach the elementary traveling team, coach the club team, do the off season workouts, and the summer program. Not to mention endless fundraisers throughout the summer that takes a huge cut into my family time. I give a lot of (and if you ask my wife too much) time to the program. When it comes down to putting that money towards hotels and travel expenses for the kids or joining the IHSWCA, I have to pick travel expenses. Travel expenses eat up my budget by them selves, not to mention other expenditures. As much as Y2 and Karl are going to jump on me, it came down to what did I personally get of the IHSWCA? I wasn't using it to my advantage, so I decided to put that money elsewhere. The IHSWCA is a great organization and after everything that has happened on this site, I am looking forward to re-joining next year after a 2 year hiatus. Maybe others, instead of complaining, can do the same and sign up.
  3. Nobody is as enlightened and bright as Hungus.
  4. Really? You really feel like he's worse than Y2 and Karl'SG"Hungus? Why? Because he doesn't reply with "I'm greater than thou" one liners that Hungus makes or because he doesn't stuff manipulated stats, charts and graphs down our throats like Ross Perot Jr. does?
  5. Mid-level teams that have been in a stagnant state will either die off, or remain in that stagnant state. Class Wrestling will do nothing to help those teams.
  6. 2 very good wrestling movies that often get overlooked: Ready to Rumble: and Beyond the Mat:
  7. A survey amongst coaches would a great start While there are 10 topics, it's the same 10 people on those ten topics. I actually like to read new information from both sides, but sifting through the same rhetoric is old and causes me to not want to read any of the thread.
  8. One problem with the mat is that people get banned and all they do is just re-register under a new name and start their same tricks again. If they did a better job of oversight, maybe that wouldn't happen. Is there anybody from Indiana on there plugging this sight? Might be fine time to get the numbers up.
  9. EDINBORO, Pa. - Wrestling had been Paul Donahoe's life since he was 6 years old and pinned his first opponent in a mere six seconds. In high school, he was chosen Mr. Wrestler for the state of Michigan in 2004. In college, he was a two-time All-American and a national champion at the University of Nebraska. And then, in less time than it took him to pin an opponent, his life was tangled up in blue. Donahoe and teammate Kenny Jordan were dismissed from the Nebraska wrestling team last Aug. 12 after a campus blog posted pictures of them taken from a website that features photos and videos of naked male athletes for a gay audience. Nebraska, citing NCAA rules that prohibit the use of an athlete's image for commercial gain, also accused Donahoe of additional violations. Donahoe was shattered. 10. "Wow! That looked like 2 guys in a clothes dryer!" What a quote! The Palace was rocking during that match, They got a standing O after that match
  11. Supposedly Bubba has been hiding a pretty severe back injury and they are already considering a medical redshirt for next season.
  12. Salazar loses on last second TD to Hall of Boise State
  13. Iowa was in fourth going into this round of Conso's Ohio State Iowa State ??? Iowa
  14. Sounds like Sponseler and Morningstar was a dandy. I've been a grump all day about not being there. Listening to this match on Flo just pushed me over the edge.

    Matt Jaggers

Lost a tough one last night or this morning, or whenever. from mmajunkie.com: One of the featherweight tournament's early favorites, Marlon Sandro (13-0), did little to impress for the opening round-and-a-half of his bout with Matt Jaggers (9-5). But things changed quickly when the Nova Unioa fighter locked in an impressive submission to end the fight. Sandro used a controlling, methodical pace to smother Jaggers in the opening frame, but did little to show the promise of a tournament favorite. When Sandro tried for a head-and-arm choke, Jaggers remained calm and slipped free from the hold, returning to his feet. Sandro quickly re-applied the hold in a standing position, and squeezed hard with the rare move. Jaggers squirmed but was unable to escape, and the Team Wolfpack fighter fell to the floor as he drifted into unconsciousness at 2:57 seconds of the second round. Sandro stays undefeated in moving to the second round of the featherweight grand prix, while Jaggers' loss snaps a two-fight win streak.
  16. It's our job as coaches to get our kids names out to college coaches. You guys are right, college coaches don't get to Semi-States or Regionals. However, I always see semi-state and regional level wrestlers getting athletic dollars. Another point is that Indiana needs to be more open to smaller schools. This has been 8 or 9 years ago, but I can remember coming to state on behalf of my college to try to recruit guys. I was basically laughed at several times for being from a NAIA school. Not to say that that is the norm, but for 2 years that was the impression that I got.
  17. I wonder how well this works at LaVille High School when they have Mishawaka, Penn and South Bend Riley in their sectional. I'm guessing a coach might lose credibility pretty fast saying that. You can't entice your kids on individual sectional championships? Or would that be good for class wrestling argument?
  18. Koko congratulations on getting into the Hall of Fame, and everytime I read your post I hear your voice. "Piiiiledrrrrriver!!" But what grinds my gears is how can a man who never held any major belt and was a glorified gate keeper for incoming stars get elected into the Hall of Fame??? Does this mean Brooklyn Brawler gets in next year?? Of course I guess this is the same Hall of Fame with Pete Rose and William Perry.
  19. At the mat officials meeting (which is required attendance for any club hosting a freestyle meet, there were 4 of us there) last friday night Tom Clark and Mark Mundy gave the reasonings behind the pushout rule. The push out rule was put into effect to take the match out of the ref's hands and into the competitors hands. The passivity rule was being used and abused on the international level.
  20. Y2 the great manipulator, will not miss on an opportunity to slam somebody or something that does not fall in line with his beliefs. Which if it's his beliefs, should be all beliefs.
  21. I thought that the man from Nantucket would have showed up by now!
  22. That's an interesting thought that I haven't considered.
  23. I haven't complained about wrestling issues. I'm saying in general, the IHSAA needs some oversight. Once again your stretching and bending and manipulating.
