One of the biggest issues with our current semi-states is that they are not even close to being centrally located within their respective region. East Chicago and Evansville are literally in the worst possible places. New Castle is right up there and some schools such as the Muncie area are closer to New Castle than Fort Wayne. I don't see any changes in semi-state locations which then leads to which one do you start with then pan out there.
I have heard rumors about the New Castle SS being moved closer to/in Indy..... but I have heard these rumors for years...

It's a fairly standard event that happens every two years. This will be the third i've been involved with, and the other two haven't brought huge changes. I cannot say that this one won't will be different, but if its anything like the others the changes are mainly between neighboring sectionals. There has never been a real push to reroute any whole regionals or sectionals to differnet semi-states. More a team or two moves between sectionals or regionals.
The commitee this year is the officers, then other coaches who give us a total of 8 (two per semi-state).
If you want to make a guess at who may move here is a cool map that we made that has the sectionals/regionals/semi-states laid out by color.

Will the coaches be polled ? ADs?
Or will the IHSAA make the decision??
Once a state chooses an option, are they stuck with that option for good or can they change between options?

I look at the data and one thing that keeps popping out to me is that it seems like a small amount of schools are dominating wrestling.
8 wrestling schools (Cathedral, Brownsburg, Warren Central, Chesterton, EMD, PM, Crown Point and Penn)
had 25% of ALL the qualifiers.... If you add East Central and Floyd Central into that mix this year, then you we at 29.4% of ALL state qualifiers in just 10 schools.

The reasonable goal would be 20-30 kids on your roster filling 12-14 weights for a program. Obviously filing all the weights can be tricky at times, even some of the more established smaller programs will forfeit weights some years.
I would love to have those numbers and I am not a "small" school!!!!

What is the school with the smallest enrollment represented this year?
Maybe Cowan...their enrollment is around 200 I believe...

Muncie Central has 1.5 mats in the room, with about another 10 foot of flooring where various equipment is located.
We currently have 28 on roster...
