blueandgold got a reaction from MUSKEEWRESTLER in 2025 Title Contenders
How does everyone keep forgetting or overlooking Thrine. I’m not understanding. If he stays at 132, he’s gotta be the #1.

I know he plays football, so I would assume he wants to add size not overlooking but Hockaday is ahead of him and Shep

Idk how to help you there, but you kicked ass all year, bro. Congrats this season

Tylin Thrine. He’s 80-1 after two seasons and will be a returning champion. He spent most of the season ranked nationally at 126, where he won it as a freshman, until he confirmed that he moved up to 132.

blueandgold got a reaction from Cricket21 in EMD, Perry Meridian, and Cathedral Reign Supreme
With Crown Point finishing third in the team race last night, EMD, Perry Meridian, and Cathedral remain the only programs to have successfully completed a three-peat in this century. EMD actually won four straight.
Three-Peat
EMD (2000-03); 4 Consecutive IHSAA State Titles
Perry Meridian (2011-13); 3 Consecutive IHSAA State Titles + 1 IHSWCA State Duals Title
Cathedral (2018-20); 3 Consecutive IHSAA State Titles + 1 IHSWCA State Duals Title
Goes to show how tough it is to be the best team consistently.

Had it not been for the one loss he suffered at Al Smith to Shepherd, he’d be my pick for most dominant wrestler this season. Just absolutely insane strength on top and he wrestles with so much finesse. I’m happy he avenged that loss in top form, though. Congrats, Rello!

blueandgold reacted to Jayruss in ‘23 vs ‘24 champs
‘23 listed first followed by ‘24
106-(41-5) Dickman vs Schoettle (43-1)
rolling with Dickman 3-2 but a very tough match.
113- (42-2) LaRocca vs (41-2) Dickman
I think Dickman stays dominant at 5-2
120- (33-4) Hockaday vs LaRocca (37-5) I have Hockaday 5-3
126-(42-0) Thrine vs Rioux (40-5)
Thrine could’ve walked on water last year at state and I wouldn’t be surprised. Thrine 5-4 OT
132- (42-0) Buttler vs (37-2) Hockaday
Buttler is game like Thrine, but Hockaday rolls to a major 12-4.
138- (48-1) Solomey vs (44-1) Leavell
the toughest one to call so I had to go with who traversed the harder path and that will be Solomey. 3-2 TB Cole
145/144- (52-0) Torres vs (39-0) Doster
an 0 gotta go, and Torres was on fire last year so give me 5-3 Torres.
152/150 (44-0) Lowery vs (40-2) Kresja
Match of the night ? Give me The Terminator Kresja 3-1
160/157- (39-2) Goin vs (41-1) Betz
Goin 5-3 in a tight one.
170/165- (25-4) Goodwin vs (41-1) Cressell. If Goodwin had the chops to beat undefeated Rulhman under the lights then he’ll get the jump on the sophomore and wins 5-1.
182/175- (35-2) Cruz vs (42-2) Leech
Cruz cruises to a 6-2 win
195/190- (44-1) Purdy vs (50-0) Weaver
Very tough match but Weaver wins 5-4.
220/215- (38-3) Clark vs (33-3) Clark
a year older Clark wins 6-4
285- (37-5 ) Jones vs Johnson (27-1) I think the battle tested Jones wins 4-3 OT
Final score 24-16 in favor of 2023.

The Not Top 10 as ESPN portrays it generally consider to be embarrassing blooper and ridiculous errors of well paid adult professional athletes. Most of yours is call out kids who already had an off day and give no credit to their opponents rising to the occasion and finding their own moment. Just because top CP wrestlers, and a few others, didn’t win a tough match doesn’t mean it should fall into this type of Not Top 10 embarrassing type call out. In my view most of your 10 are not good takes. Heck some of them aren’t even big upsets ranking wise. Your own picks may not have been Top 10 calls but no need to call any of these kids to task just because they didn’t live up to your picks. If this was a joke it was done way too poorly in taste. Get some sleep, you’ve had a long day.
The following take (posted below) is more along the lines of the type of Not Top 10 criticism of this years state event that is worth pointing out. I can at least respect those thoughts cause it’s about the process and someone could actually consider those ideas when planning future events.
